🌘 THE SUN WILL DARKEN OVER LIVERPOOL…🕯️

Tomorrow evening, Wednesday 12th August, Liverpool will witness a spectacular partial solar eclipse, with around 92% of the Sun obscured by the Moon at its peak. 🌑

For centuries, eclipses were regarded with fear and superstition. Across different cultures they were interpreted as omens — warnings of death, disaster, the fall of rulers, or strange events yet to come. Imagine witnessing the daylight mysteriously fade centuries ago, with no idea why… 👻

And once the Sun has returned, we’ll be waiting for darkness to fall properly…

We’ve just uploaded all of our October tour dates, including our Halloween tours, with dates now available to book right through to the end of the year. 🎃🍂

Autumn is one of our favourite times to descend into St James’ Cemetery: darker evenings, fallen leaves, lantern light and, as Halloween approaches, the perfect setting for Liverpool’s stranger and more unsettling tales. 🍂✨👻
If you’re hoping to join us around Halloween, we’d recommend booking early these are traditionally some of our busiest nights of the year!! 👀😱

The long summer evenings have made St James’ Cemetery look especially beautiful, with the ancient monuments bathed in golden light before darkness falls. As twilight fades, the atmosphere transforms into the perfect setting for an evening of ghost stories beneath the trees.🍃🌱🕯️

This week also brings the Buck Moon 🦌🌝– July’s full moon, traditionally named for the time of year when male deer begin to grow their new antlers. The Moon reaches its fullest on Wednesday, but it will still appear wonderfully bright as we tour on Friday evening, casting its silvery glow across the cemetery. 🌕✨
