Imagine witnessing this on the beaches of Saint Lucia… 🤩 🐢 From March to November, sea turtles - including Hawksbills - come ashore to nest. And, if you’re lucky, you might see tiny hatchlings emerge from the sand and make their first journey towards the Caribbean Sea.

Nesting and hatching are carefully protected, so the best way to experience this special moment is with a local conservation group or guided turtle-watching experience.

One day, some of these tiny travellers may return to Saint Lucia to lay eggs of their own. 💙🇱🇨

At Thomazo Creole Bread, just a short drive north from Hewanorra International Airport, bread is made and baked fresh every day in a traditional stone oven. Locals stop by for their daily loaf, often filled with local cheese, saltfish or luncheon meat.

No supermarket shelves. No plastic packaging. Just fresh bread, made locally and enjoyed by the community.

You may have seen sea moss in smoothies, wellness drinks or gels, but do you know where it comes from? 💚🇱🇨

In Saint Lucia, this type of algae grows in the warm waters around the island and has been cultivated by local families for generations. Today, sea moss farming is one of the island’s fastest-growing agricultural industries, with farmers producing it for markets both in Saint Lucia and overseas.

Among them is Kerwin Samuel, whose family business has been cultivating sea moss for generations. From growing and harvesting it in the sea to drying and preparing it, there’s a lot more behind that jar of sea moss gel than you might imagine. 🤩

And when you’re in Saint Lucia, you can discover it for yourself - visit a sea moss farm, find it at local markets and restaurants, or pick up some dried sea moss to take home and try for yourself.
