🍂 The evenings are drawing in, the air is turning crisp, and there’s a little whisper of winter all around us…

As the days grow shorter, our thoughts are beginning to drift towards snow-dusted peaks, mountain mornings, and those first runs on freshly powdered pistes... ❄

There’s something special about escaping to the mountains in winter. Days spent exploring the slopes, evenings gathered around the table sharing delicious food, and cosy chalet moments that make you wish you could stay just a little longer.

At Chalet des Neiges, we can’t wait for another season of mountain adventures, meaningful ministry, and wonderful fellowship!

This morning in our Bible study, we reflected on 2 Kings 8:19:

"Nevertheless, for the sake of his servant David, the LORD was not willing to destroy Judah. He had promised to maintain a lamp for David and his descendants forever.”

Throughout these chapters, we see the kings of Israel and Judah repeatedly turn away from God, following their own ways rather than His. Yet, even in the midst of their unfaithfulness, God remains faithful to His covenant.

In 2 Kings 8:19, we’re reminded of God’s promise to David: that his line would endure. Despite the failures of the kings who came after him, God preserves the line of David and remains committed to His purposes. His faithfulness is not dependent on the faithfulness of His people.

It reminds us that our hope is not ultimately found in our own efforts, our achievements or our ability to get everything right. Our hope rests in the character of God: who He is, what He has promised and His faithfulness to fulfil those promises.

Throughout the Bible, we see God’s patience with His people, His desire to bring them back to Himself, and His commitment to His redemptive purposes. His promise to David points forward to Jesus, the promised King whose kingdom will endure forever.

We will all fall short, but our failures do not make God unfaithful. Through His grace, there is forgiveness, restoration and hope.

Our failures can never be greater than God’s faithfulness. 💙

In our team morning Bible study, we reflected on John 4:13–14, where Jesus speaks about the living water that only He can give:

“Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” — John 4:13–14 (NIV)

We discussed how relevant and challenging this message is for our lives today. It is so easy to fill our lives with other things, believing they will satisfy us. Yet, like drinking from a well that leaves us thirsty again, these things can only offer temporary fulfilment.

The reality is that we cannot experience lasting satisfaction without God. Even when life is going well, when we feel successful, happy or as though we have everything we need, there is still a deeper thirst within us that only Jesus can satisfy.

But what makes this passage even more beautiful is the context in which Jesus speaks these words. He is talking to a Samaritan woman at a well, someone who would have experienced social and religious rejection, and whose personal circumstances made her vulnerable to judgement from others. Yet Jesus meets her where she is. He doesn't turn her away or make her earn His attention; He extends grace and invites her into something greater.

As we go into the rest of the week, may we remember that we don't have to keep searching for satisfaction in things that will eventually leave us thirsty again. We can turn to Jesus, again and again, knowing that His grace is not dependent on how well we are doing, and His invitation is always open. 💙

This Monday morning in our Bible study, we spent some time reflecting on Galatians 6:9 and Paul’s encouragement to the Galatian church to persevere in doing good, even when it's hard.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

One of the things we love about this verse is its honesty. It acknowledges that we can grow weary. Doing good, caring for others and trying to live faithfully doesn’t always come easily, and sometimes we can find ourselves feeling tired even when we’re doing our best!

It’s easy to mistake that weariness for failure, but feeling weary doesn’t mean we’re doing something wrong. Sometimes it simply means we’ve been carrying a lot.

Paul’s encouragement to persevere isn’t a call to keep pushing ourselves in our own strength. Throughout Scripture, we’re reminded that God meets us in our weakness and offers us the strength we need. Isaiah 40:31 tells us that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.

So, if you’re feeling weary today, perhaps the reminder is that you don’t have to try harder or find more strength within yourself. You can bring that weariness to God, allowing Him to renew you as you continue to love others and do good, one day at a time.

May we remember this week that faithfulness isn’t about having endless energy, but about learning to depend on God for the strength to keep going! 💙

Looking back on a fantastic week in Mallorca! 🚴‍♀️☀️

From beautiful rides through the Mallorcan countryside to lovely, relaxed meals around the table, it was a week full of friendship, good food and a shared love of cycling.

One of the loveliest things about our cycling holidays is the sense of community that grows along the way. Different people coming together, sharing adventures, encouraging one another and enjoying the simple pleasure of good company.

As Phoebe put it:

“I loved the family feel of the week with a relaxed atmosphere yet serious about good food and safe and fun cycling adventures.”

We couldn't have summed it up better! A week of wonderful rides, shared purpose and the kind of friendships that make a holiday feel that little bit more special. 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make Mallorca such a memorable week. Here's to many more adventures together!
