It’s been a fantastic few weeks at Interskill, with students showing amazing teamwork, creativity and enthusiasm across a wide range of activities! 👏🌟
In the kitchen, students have been busy developing their cooking skills, creating dishes including pasta bolognese, cassoulet, lemon chicken tray bake, fish tray bake, cauliflower and broccoli cheese, cornbread, granola flapjacks, crumbles, cakes and desserts 🍋🍰🍝 Huge congratulations to those who completed their course and received their certificates - thoroughly deserved!
Outside of cooking, students have enjoyed trips to Mablethorpe, taking part in the Rotary Disability Games, working in the greenhouse, creating Father’s Day gifts, resin sun catchers, personalised key rings and bookmarks, as well as building bug boxes for St James Church 🪴🎨🪚

It has been busy and rewarding here at Louth Interskill, with students showing fantastic enthusiasm, teamwork and creativity across a wide range of practical, outdoor and creative activities.

In the kitchen, students have been developing their skills through a wide variety of dishes. They’ve enjoyed making one-pot pasta bolognese, baked apples and lemon cake, working exceptionally well together as a team.
They have also prepared cassoulet, banoffee desserts, and granola biscuits, alongside creating cauliflower cheese with a gratin topping, mixed berry crumble and apple and ginger cookies. Their baking skills have continued to grow through making cakes, cookies and pancakes.
More recently, students have enjoyed cooking fish tray bake and chocolate desserts, followed by a Lorraine Pascale cheese loaf. They have also produced a delicious lemon chicken tray bake, raspberry semifreddo and cherry and honey cake.

Outside of the kitchen, students have taken part in spring walks at Hubbard’s Hills, Willingham Woods, People’s Park and Cleethorpes Country Park, alongside gym sessions and golf. Creativity has been thriving too, with students enjoying marbling, Mother’s Day gift making, pottery, woodwork and scrapbooking. The woodwork team have been working hard on practical projects including fruit cages, compost bins, gates and sheds.

We’ve also been excited to see students involved in auditions and read-throughs for The Wizard of Oz, showing great enthusiasm and confidence.

Our students have been busy across a whole range of activities recently and it’s been fantastic to see their confidence and independence continue to grow.

Work experience in the shop is going really well, with students developing valuable customer service skills and learning more about the day-to-day running of a retail environment. Alongside this, we’ve been keeping active with keep fit sessions and dance, bringing plenty of energy and smiles all round!

Creativity has been flowing in pottery and woodwork, with some brilliant pieces taking shape. We’ve also enjoyed scrapbooking and making our own resin bookmarks and keyrings - such lovely, personalised creations 😊

In the kitchen, students have been busy baking gluten free bread and have now started Cooking Course Seven. This course focuses on making sensible use of cooking appliances to help save energy. So far, we’ve prepared an oven-baked fish dish and cheesy bread, followed by a delicious chocolate fromage frais for dessert.

In our second session, students made a hearty cassoulet along with banoffee yoghurt pots and crunchy granola biscuits.

A fantastic effort from everyone involved - great work all round! 🌟

Our wonderful team of students have been kite flying at Humberston and improving their pottery skills creating bee water stations and Christmas items.

The kitchen area has been super busy; the students have used onions, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, green beans and raspberries grown in the Interskill garden which has been wonderful.

They have created dishes including pasta salad, blueberry and apple cake and flapjack, pea and rocket soup, cheesy bread, mango dessert and lemon cake, meat loaf, hummus with vegetable sticks and oat biscuits.

Apples were kindly donated by Interskill staff and friends which were used to make bramble and apple crumble and apple chutney. Great work everyone!🌟
