Lyme Regis is a great base for coastal walking, with routes to suit all abilities. You can enjoy easy, level walks along the seafront and Marine Parade, perfect for a relaxed stroll fossil hunting with sea views, cafés, and benches along the way.
Spoilt for choice, inland walks are beautiful, and there are many. The Lyme to Uplyme nature trail stroll alongside the River Lym is gorgeous and goes straight past our very own Riverbank Lodge & sauna (sleeps 2). If you’re looking for more of a challenge, the South West Coast Path runs through Lyme Regis in both directions, with well-marked trails heading east towards Charmouth and west towards Seaton and beyond. You can catch a bus back if legs are tired!!
These sections reward you with dramatic cliff-top views, fossil beaches, and classic Jurassic Coast scenery. Many walks can be done as short loops or out-and-back routes, making it easy to tailor the distance and difficulty to your day.
