8 Years On... Our Story ❤️
Eight years ago today, our lives changed forever.
Terry suffered a life-changing accident at work that left him with an transhumeral amputation, a broken femur and more than 50 stitches to his head. He was incredibly lucky to survive that night.
In an instant, everything changed. Not just for Terry, but for our family, friends and everyone around us. The physical injuries were only part of the journey. The emotional impact and ripple effects of that day were felt for years.
The road to recovery has not been easy. There have been challenges, setbacks, pain and daily adjustments. Terry continues to live with phantom limb pain, and rehabilitation remains part of his everyday routine.
But eight years later, we choose to celebrate how far we've come.
Terry has learned new ways of doing things, adapted to new challenges, found strength he never knew he had and embraced life with a renewed sense of purpose. His resilience, determination and positive outlook continue to inspire those around him.
Looking back, we're reminded that disability is the world's largest minority group, and we know first-hand how quickly anyone can become part of it. One moment can change everything.
Today, we are proud of the journey, the growth and the strength that has carried us through. While we would never have chosen this path, it has taught us lessons about how important it is to live life to the full everyday.
Here's to Terry, celebrating his 2nd birthday his ampuversary 💙
