Do you want a stall at our Lifeboat Day 2026?

We're looking for local businesses, crafters, makers and community groups to join us for one of our biggest fundraising events of the year!

⛵ Blessing of the Boat 2026 ⛵

Join us for this special annual tradition at Newbiggin Lifeboat Station as we gather for the Blessing of the Boat

Alongside the lifeboat blessing, Newbiggin Rowing Club's skiff "Bella Arkle" will also be blessed. The ceremony will be accompanied by music from the Newbiggin Salvation Army Brass Band.

We will have our pop up shop at Duridge Bay Country park on Saturday 30th May and Sunday 31st of May come and find us near the visitor centre

🚤 Ever thought about volunteering with the RNLI?

As part of , you're invited to an online event about what it’s really like to volunteer with the RNLI in the North and East Region, from operational roles through to fundraising, water safety, shop volunteering, and more.

It’s taking place on Wednesday 3rd June at 6pm

It’s an opportunity to:
⚓ Hear directly from current volunteers
⚓ Ask questions in an informal setting
⚓ Find out about the wide range of opportunities available
⚓ Learn how you could make a difference in your community

You don’t need previous experience, maritime knowledge, or lots of spare time. There are many different ways to get involved and support saving lives at sea.

If you, a friend, colleague, or family member might be interested, we’d love to see you there.

Current volunteers are also welcome to join and bring a friend!
