The Science Bodyboards Coaching Weekend returns to Newquay on 26 and 27 September 2026.

Join Bodyboard Holidays Head Coach Damian Prisk, multiple-time British Champion and long-standing Mike Stewart Science team rider, for two days of expert coaching at the best available waves Cornwall had to offer!

Whatever your current level, the weekend is built around helping you progress. Expect personalised coaching, filmed sessions, video analysis and practical feedback you can take straight back into the water.

Damian will also share insights from more than 30 years of bodyboarding, including the technique, experience and board knowledge behind his distinctive style.

And there is a serious prize on the line. The rider who progresses the most over the weekend will win a brand-new Science bodyboard.

Sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference.

During last weekend’s Iain Campbell Coaching Weekend, Iain broke down three paddling techniques to help riders catch more waves, get into them earlier and start each ride with more speed and control.

From double hands on the nose, to one-arm paddling and the more advanced double-arm paddle, each technique has its place depending on the wave and the situation.

It’s exactly this kind of practical detail, combined with in-water coaching and video analysis, that helps our guests make real progress over the weekend.

Our next Iain Campbell Coaching Weekend in Newquay is on 7–8 November, and we’re down to the final few spaces.

Never bodyboarded before? Andi hadn’t either. 🌊

He joined us in Newquay this weekend as a complete beginner, with plenty of love for the ocean but absolutely no previous bodyboarding experience.

By the end of the weekend, he was catching waves, building confidence and, judging by this shot, looking pretty comfortable doing it too. 🤙🏼

His review probably sums it up better than we could:

“I returned home having caught some waves, rejuvenated my soul and found the peace of the ocean that I’d been looking for… oh, and a new love of bodyboarding!”

Rad start to day one of our Iain Campbell coaching weekend here in Newquay. 🌊☀️

Glorious sunshine, fun end-of-summer waves and a brilliant mixed crew of beginners through to advanced riders, all here to learn, progress and get more out of their bodyboarding.

We’ve been working in small coaching groups throughout the day, making sure everyone gets the individual tips and feedback they need to push their riding to the next level.

There’s already been loads of progression across the group, from riders nailing the fundamentals and building confidence, to those fine-tuning the technical details that make a real difference.

That’s what these weekends are all about for us. Sharing our love of bodyboarding, helping people understand the ocean better, improving technique and, most importantly, helping everyone have more fun in the water. 🤙🏼

Are you surfing like a complete banana? 🍌 😂

That’s how Rusty describes the moment you watch yourself back on video and realise your riding doesn’t always look how it feels.

Even for someone with as much experience as Rusty, video analysis can highlight the small things you don’t always notice in the water. Positioning, weight distribution and timing can all make a big difference.

Rusty has joined us in Bali, El Salvador and Costa Rica, and despite calling Bali home, he still chooses to spend time with us in Nusa Lembongan.

That says plenty.

NEW NUSA LEMBONGAN DATE ADDED FOR 2027 🇮🇩

Our October trip has been sold out for quite some time, and plenty of you have asked when the next opportunity would be.

We can now confirm a new date: 28 March to 5 April 2027.

The trip is built around getting you into the right waves and helping you make real progress while you are there. Our coaching team checks the conditions each day, chooses the best breaks for the group and uses a private surf boat to reach different spots around the island.

The coaching is personal and practical. Your coaches will be in the water with you, helping with everything from wave selection to technique. Sessions are professionally filmed too, giving you the chance to review your riding and see exactly where you can improve.

This trip is best suited for bodyboarders looking for quality time in the water, knowledgeable coaching and a good group to share it with.

When you are not bodyboarding, there is beachfront bungalow accommodation overlooking the lagoon, brilliant snorkelling, warm water and plenty of time to enjoy the island.
