Happy Halloween from Montreal
🎃 Happy Halloween! 🍁👻

Have you ever thought about a city break to Montreal? Well, why not?!

🍁 The autumn colours are fabulous at this time of year, the old town is gorgeous, and the food scene is amazing. Add craft b**r, a little French practice and a whole lot of character, and you've got yourself a brilliant city break.

Everyone seems to head to New York, but why not think outside the box? Montreal offers a different vibe, a beautiful historic centre and plenty to explore, potentially without the same crowds or price tag as NYC.

She doesn't even take me on holiday!

I see those suitcases come out far too often .

She does work hard though and loves her travel family.

It will just mean more 'ME TIME' .. sat by the pond, contemplating life, the universe and treats..

INDIA.. it's glorious!

I was invited to the Indian Association of Tour Operators dinner and presentation tonight.

The tour operators I met with are incredible.
Really supporting thruf local communities. educating children so they can join the tourist industry.
Empowering women to be able to work after marriage!
Ensuring this who travel see authentic India.
I have new destinations I must go to!
Ladak looks sensational.
Bihar also is on my list.
I'd never really considered what more there was to see..
But my eyes have been opened wide!
Some of the hotels .. look incredible!

GOOD EVENING! A DAY OF TWO HALVES! ❤️

The lovely half first! 🥰

I’ve welcomed a lovely new client into my travel family today, who has booked her first family trip with me to Corfu next year. It’s been so lovely getting to know her and working with her to plan her families holiday. I can’t wait for them to make some wonderful memories!

Now for the not-so-lovely half! 🙈

Storm Thingy certainly did some damage here! I spotted water upstairs last night and wondered where on earth it had come from. Well, mystery solved… half my dormer roof had flown off! 😂

I think the house was auditioning for The Wizard of Oz! 🌪️

But here’s where the story gets lovely again.

One of my travel family, who has been booking holidays with me for a while now, is a plumber. And what does this absolute superstar do? Somehow or other, plumbers seem to think it’s perfectly normal to climb out of a bedroom window, get onto a roof and help pull half of it back into place and screw it down!

And he wouldn’t take a penny for it. ❤️

It’s only a temporary fix, and the roof still needs sorting properly, but he’s already got a man who knows a man… so hopefully we’re getting somewhere!

I was feeling pretty fed up this afternoon, but honestly, this is one of the things I love most about what I do.

You start by helping people plan their holidays, but along the way, you get to know them, build relationships and become part of each other’s lives.

I look after my travel family, and sometimes, they look after me. ❤️

And today, that means a lot.

The roof might not be fixed yet, but I’m still working, still smiling and feeling very grateful for some lovely people in my life!

Now, if anyone has a spare pair of ruby slippers, I might need them! 😂👠

🇮🇳❤️ A LITTLE PIECE OF INDIA HAS ARRIVED HOME! ❤️🇮🇳
Look what’s finally arrived… and I couldn’t wait to unwrap it! 🥰
While travelling around India, we visited a local carpet artisan where we watched the incredible skill of the craftsmen hand-weaving the most beautiful patterns into these stunning carpets.
It was fascinating to see the time, patience and craftsmanship that goes into every single piece. These are traditional skills that have been passed down through generations, and it’s so important that they continue.
Of course, I couldn’t resist! 🙈 I ended up buying this absolutely stunning handmade carpet.
In my defence, it was my wedding anniversary, and I was away from home… so surely I was allowed a little treat?! 😂❤️
But on a serious note, one of the things I love about travelling is discovering these local traditions and meeting the people behind them.
India has so many incredible artisan trades, from weaving and textiles to pottery, jewellery and so much more. Buying directly from smaller businesses helps support local craftspeople and their communities, helping to keep these wonderful traditions alive.
For me, travel isn't just about seeing amazing places. It's about the people you meet, the experiences you have and the little pieces of a destination you bring home with you. ❤️
And now I have a beautiful reminder of my Indian adventure right here in my own home!
