It's nearly time for the final of BBC1's Race Across The World. Sadly it is the final tonight - the show has gone too quickly! Who is going to win? I have loved this series and lots of the places are on my bucket list - Mongolia looks amazing but I don't think I am quite ready for the accommodation there!

Time for episode 4 tonight at 8pm on Channel 4 of Cruising To The Ends Of The Earth and tonight Royal Princess docks in Ketchikan, Alaska. Think it may have changed a bit from when I was there in 1990!

As we had an overnight stay in Ponta Delgada and we had arrived on a Sunday we just went for a wander around the town. Such a pretty place. Just wish the weather had been better but we did avoid the rain!

Tonight at 8pm on Channel 5 a new series starts - Angela Rippon's River Cruises.

In the first episode Angela sails on The Danube and takes in stunning Budapest and Vienna. We love the cafe culture - sure she will too before she learnt the Vienese Waltz. Enjoy...

One of our meals in the new Colours and Taste Restaurant onboard Bolette. I personally miss the old decor of it as now it is a sea of beige but the food was outstanding. I forgot to take a copy of the menu - it was the Italian menu and if you visit I highly recommend the tiramisu as it was amazing.

Praia da Vitoria in The Azores was our first port of call. The Azores archipelago is a melting pot of Portuguese influences.

I had arranged for a driver to collect us and as we had visited this beautiful island previously we decided to explore Abgra do Heroismo in depth. This historically important city was a former capital of Portugal. The Gothic inspired 16th century Church of Se is stunning. We did of course have to sample some local cakes and coffee before returning back to the ship!

Time to get ready for dinner in Colours and Taste...

Time to catch up with our recent cruise - we got home yesterday from our 14 nights on Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines Bolette which sailed from Liverpool for 14 nights to The Azores, Madeira and Lisbon. Sadly we did not have the best weather but we managed to swerve the rain!

Three sea days before we arrived in the Azores so we had lots of time to relax and do as many (or as lityle) of the activities offered onboard as we wanted to. We did attend a couple of the cookery classes and one of the new events onboard. Just a few photos here before we arrive in our first port of call...
