Walking through ancient Roman ruins, you can’t help but wonder who walked these streets before you, what everyday life was like, and what stories these stones could tell if they could speak.

✈️ Just Booked! 🇹🇷

Mr & Mrs H are heading to Istanbul for a pre Christmas break.

They're planning to spend their time exploring the city's beautiful mosques, wandering through the atmospheric bazaars and taking in Istanbul from the water. 🕌

I think Istanbul is a wonderful choice for a short break at this time of year. There's plenty to see and do, but also lots of opportunities to simply wander, stop for a Turkish coffee ☕ and take in the atmosphere.

Another holiday booked and another trip to look forward to. 💙

🏆 Well… this happened! 😂

I’m absolutely delighted, and yes, a little bit chuffed, to have been named Agency of the Month for August by my franchise company. 💙

Apparently all the networking, training, trying new things and pushing myself out of my comfort zone is paying off!

But the real reason I’m smiling is simple…

I genuinely love what I do. ✈️🌍

I get to spend my days helping people plan holidays, finding the right trips, researching the little details and then watching those plans turn into something they can actually look forward to.

So, a huge thank you to everyone who has booked with me, recommended me, supported me, encouraged me or simply followed along with Cicada Destinations. It really does mean a lot. ❤️

Today is Vietnam’s National Day, which seemed like the perfect excuse to talk about a country I think deserves a place on more people’s travel lists. ✈️

You can start with the buzz of Hanoi, wander through the lantern lit streets of Hoi An, explore dramatic limestone landscapes, discover incredible food and still finish your trip with some time beside the sea. 🌿

And that’s what I love about Vietnam. It isn’t just one type of holiday. You can make it adventurous, cultural, relaxing, food focused — or a mixture of all of them.

🐆🌿 Some wildlife moments are unforgettable because of how peaceful they are. 🇱🇰

During our visit to Wilpattu National Park in Sri Lanka this June, we were lucky enough to spend time watching this beautiful leopard resting quietly beside the road.

There was something incredibly special about simply sitting there and observing him in his natural surroundings. No rush, no need for anything else to happen, just the privilege of sharing a moment with one of Sri Lanka’s most remarkable animals.

This is one of the reasons I keep returning to Sri Lanka. Beyond the beaches and beautiful landscapes, there is a whole world of wildlife waiting to be discovered, from leopards and elephants to the many other creatures that call the island home. 🐘🌿

Having visited Sri Lanka eight times, I love helping travellers discover the experiences that make this destination so unique.

🐃 Have you ever seen a white buffalo calf? 🤍🇱🇰

I filmed this little one while travelling through Sri Lanka, happily splashing and jumping through the water while staying close to the adult buffalo.

It was such an unusual sight, and one of those completely unexpected moments that makes travelling so special.

There is something truly humbling about being close to one of the ocean’s largest creatures. Despite their size, whale sharks move through the water with incredible grace, creating an unforgettable wildlife experience for those lucky enough to see them.

From the waters of Donsol in the Philippines to Mafia Island in Tanzania, there are places where responsible encounters can offer a chance to appreciate these remarkable animals in their natural environment.

Wildlife experiences have a special way of changing how we see the world, whether on land or beneath the waves. 🌍
