🎉 On this day, 20 years ago, Pat Liddy's Walking Tours began in Dublin City with our first Walking Tour, 4th July 2005.

Twenty years on, and we've probably had thousands of Tours given by many, many amazing & knowledgeable guides.

Today, we celebrate a milestone for our company and our terrific family of guides!

📸 Pat Liddy with Magda, who's been with the company nearly from the start, and photos of PLWT guides on Tours over the years or hanging out with the Chief.

A bit of springtime colour in the grounds of Christchurch Cathedral. Overhead is the iconic Synod Hall Bridge connecting Christchurch to the striking Synod building across Wintetavern Street. Although the cathedral is medieval, the bridge itself was built in the 19th century. The Synod Hall now hosts the wonderful Museum. Well worth a visit when you're in this neck of the woods.

Whiskey distiller Edmund Roe funded work on the Synod Hall in the early 1870s; it looks like he wasn't to be outdone by brewer Benjamin Guinness (Yes, those Guinnesses) who'd paid to help restore nearby St. Patrick's Cathedral a few years earlier. It seems that both the pint of plain and local whiskey have a deep connection to religious architectural renewal in the city!
