Arima Ryofu Kawazashiki

Arima Ryofu Kawazashiki will be held from July 26th through August 25th.
Viewing boxes and stages are set up in the Arima River Shinsui park, and stalls, games, performances, and geisha dances can be enjoyed while taking in the summer night. With the river breeze providing relief, many people come every year smacking their lips in anticipation of delicious food.
Please come and enjoy the summer season in Arima Onsen!

Arima Cherry Blossom Festival

Bidding farewell to the bitter cold, our thoughts turn to spring and the arrival of cherry blossoms along the Japanese archipelago. In most years at Arima Onsen, we delight in the splendor of cherry blossoms from the end of March until around mid-April.
This year, the Arima Cherry Blossom Festival is held on April 7th and all the local people of Arima gather at the river site to participate in the merriment. Stalls, performances and geisha dances are all part of this local festival.

In Children's Day, Japanese raise the carp streamers called "Koi-nobori". The origin of a carp shaped streamer is that carp is a symbol of success in life, and it is based on a historical event in ancient China. It is said that a carp was the only one which won a race among other fishes, and became a dragon.
"Koi-nobori" is a set of streamers in the shape of carps in different colors and sizes. These carps are a symbols of a family. Parents display "Koi-nobori" hoping that their children will grow up healthy and strong.

The weeping cherry tree has begun to bloom at Yosh*takaya right across from Arima Onsen Station. It's the earliest blooming cherry tree in the Arima area. This cherry blossom signals the start of spring time in Arima Onsen, and before long other cherry trees will begin to bloom. Furthermore, the cherry trees lining Arima River will be illuminated in the evening from April 1st through 15th.

The high-speed bus "Kyoto Arima Line" by Keihan bus and Hankyu bus started operation from today!

The journey between Arima Onsen and Kyoto takes 75 minutes with one stop at Takatsuki city, Osaka Prefecture. There are eight round trips a day. The cost per adult is ¥1,800 one way, children are ¥900 and there is no round trip discount.

We are eagerly waiting to serve the many visitors from around the world coming to the Arima Onsen.
