Long ago, high in the snowy mountains, people believed that the reindeer could hear the voice of the wind before any human could.

One winter morning, the reindeer stopped walking and looked toward the white peaks. The old herder smiled and said, “The mountain is speaking.” The child held the rope carefully, the dog sat quietly, and even the snow seemed to listen.

They say the reindeer was guiding them to a hidden valley where the winter spirits kept the warmest sunlight. Since that day, whenever the reindeer looks toward the mountains, the herders know that nature is sending a message.

This is just an imagination story come out of my mind. Sorry :)

He is a scholar of Tibetan and Mongolian languages with a Ph.D. from Harvard University who has spent years documenting the vanishing culture of the Dukha (or Tsaatan) people, a tribe of nomadic reindeer herders in northern Mongolia.This photograph is part of a larger body of work exploring the deep spiritual and practical connection between the Dukha people and animals like reindeer, wolves, and eagles. Sardar-Afkhami also produced a documentary film about this community titled The Reindeer People
