Last week, it was a true honor and privilege to welcome an inspiring group of students and educators from SEOUL FOREIGN SCHOOL, SOUTH KOREA, for their Discovery Week journey in Nepal, proudly organized in collaboration with Moonlight Nepal Trekking & Adventure.

Over the course of this transformative program, students immersed themselves in the breathtaking Himalayas through guided trekking experiences, meaningful service learning at Moonlight School, and rich cultural exchange with local communities. Every step of the journey was intentionally designed to go beyond adventure—building resilience, nurturing empathy, strengthening leadership, and inspiring authentic global citizenship.

One of the most powerful outcomes was witnessing students describe this journey as a life-changing turning point—“global citizenship in action.” Learning was no longer confined to classrooms; it became a lived experience of human connection, shared responsibility, and purposeful growth. The bonds formed with the children at Moonlight School were especially profound, creating moments of joy, compassion, and lasting inspiration that will continue far beyond Nepal.

We were deeply honored to host an inspiring group of students and educators from Cairo American College for their recent Week Without Walls journey to Nepal, organized through our travel company, Moonlight Nepal Trekking & Adventure.🇳🇵

This transformative program combined three days of Himalayan trekking, a meaningful service-learning project at Moonlight School, and rich cultural immersion experiences. Together, these elements nurtured resilience, compassion, leadership, and authentic global citizenship.

Students and teachers described the experience as “real global citizenship in action”—where travel becomes more than exploration; it becomes a force for equity, empowerment, and lasting positive change. The journey was life-changing not only for the visiting students, but also for the children of Moonlight School. Many shared their heartfelt desire to continue this meaningful connection in the years ahead.

The group especially valued our strong commitment to safety and comfort, including the presence of a medical doctor throughout the trek. Beyond the adventure, they were deeply moved by our humanitarian mission and our ongoing dedication to supporting underprivileged children through education.

I’m overjoyed to share some truly inspiring news: we recently had the honor of organizing school trips for student groups from German Swiss International School Hong Kong and NIST International School Bangkok on a transformative journey to Nepal—an experience that not only opened their hearts and minds to new cultures and awe-inspiring landscapes but also nurtured a deep sense of global citizenship, empathy, and the power to create meaningful, lasting impact.

The teachers and students from both schools were profoundly inspired by their experience, describing it as “real global citizenship in action”—transforming travel into a powerful force for equity, empowerment, and lasting positive change. They found the trip life-changing, not only for themselves but also for the students of Moonlight School. Many expressed excitement about continuing this meaningful relationship in the future.

During their five-day trek through Nepal’s breathtaking snow-capped mountains and stunning landscapes, the students reached elevations of 3,300 meters, embracing a real-world learning journey that fostered resilience, global awareness, and empathy.
