A big thank you to Clovelly Eagles JRFC for trusting us again with their New Zealand Rugby Tour - and for taking the time to share their experience on Google.

A massive shoutout to the local South Island hosts who welcomed the Eagles so warmly on and off the field.

Great to see Clovelly Eagles taking on Christchurch Football Club for the first fixture of their recent New Zealand tour!

It was the start of nine days travelling through the South Island, with plenty of rugby and some pretty epic NZ experiences along the way.

A big thanks to Christchurch Football Club for hosting the team and giving them such a great start to their time in NZ.

Another huge NZ Junior Rugby Festival in Taupō.

138 teams, plenty of rugby and a pretty special atmosphere across the weekend.

We’re proud to be a long-standing supporter of Global Games, and to play our part in helping teams get there.

Congratulations to every team who took to the field, and to all the people behind the scenes who made the weekend possible. 👏

NZ Junior Ruby Festival Taupō 2026

A huge congratulations to all the young players who participated in the 17th year of this festival. It was great to see the teams embracing the values of the Global Games and upholding our four pillars of enjoyment, empowerment, sustainability and sportsmanship to ensure they played with pride and passion when they represented their Club on a national stage.

With 138 teams from the top of the North Island to the South and as far as Australia and America; the atmosphere was incredible and there were just so many happy faces playing the game they love.
None of it would be possible without all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes with the teams, Clubs, families, supporters and communities who put in so much to organise this special end of season tour. You are the Global Games and this is your festival.

There’s something pretty special about seeing teams not only experience another part of the world, but share a little of home while they’re there too.

A fixture can bring two teams together, but what gets shared around it can be just as memorable.

When playing or hosting a New Zealand team, you may experience a haka before a fixture, as part of a welcome, or at another significant moment between teams.

If you're receiving a haka, you don't need to perform one in response. Be present, give it your full attention and show respect. Your hosts, tour leader or guide can let you know if there is anything expected of your team before or afterwards.

Haka is one of the ways language, culture and identity can be shared through sport – and another reminder that a sporting exchange can be about much more than the game.
