The Glenorchy Grind is back for 2026 on Saturday 17 October 🚴

The course sends riders out along gravel roads through the Dart and Rees Valleys and past Paradise. There are three distances to choose from, with two of them family and e-bike friendly, and a barbecue waiting at the finish.

Every entry goes back into the Glenorchy Trails Trust, helping maintain and build future trails. Ride it, and you're part of building what's next in the region.

Spring days stretch a little longer in Queenstown, and that means more room for après.

Long lunch on the mountain at Heidi's Hut Coronet Peak. An afternoon spritz at Dishery in Arrowtown. Then a pint by the fire at the historic Gantley's Tavern to close things out.

It's been a week of all kinds of weather, with 50cm of snow, sun and everything in between welcoming in the start of spring, and there's more on the way. ❄️

The Remarkables have been deep in the freeride world, with The North Face Frontier 2* and 4* events both scoring sun between storms, plus a silent disco on the deck this Saturday from 12pm. Treble Cone Ski Area is shaping up for some great powder days, with nice snow at the Saddle and fun spring conditions down at the base. Coronet Peak wraps up its final Night Ski on Friday, and the last Angel Hour at Heidi's Hut on Saturday. Cardrona Alpine Resort, NZ continues to see nice top-ups ahead of the Jossi Wells Invitational, running 6-12 September, and they've just announced that they will stay open until 18 October. Snow Farm NZ has also just extended its season until 27 September, with groomed trails, backcountry huts and snow play still on offer. Don't miss the Snow Machine Festival which kicks off in Queenstown next week, with over 30 artists across 8 stages at The Remarkables, Coronet Peak, and the main arena in Frankton, plus plenty of other side events happening around town.

20 to 30cm of fresh snow is on its way across the region today and into tomorrow, and the week ahead is stacked with events. ❄️

Treble Cone Ski Area is in the eye of the snowstorm, setting the stage for an epic TC Snowboard Banked Slalom this Friday and Saturday. Coronet Peak is forecast to get up to 20cm of snow by Thursday, with First Tracks running daily from 8am for anyone chasing fresh lines. Night Ski sessions wrap up next week, so get up there while you still can. Cardrona Alpine Resort, NZ kicks off a big month of events, starting with round two of the Parksquad Pipeline Halfpipe series this Saturday. Over at The Remarkables, The North Face Frontier freeride events are underway from Friday, with the 4* in the Alta Chutes and 2* in Shadow Basin, plus eight new terrain park jumps to try out.

Something’s brewing in the mountains… 👀

Snow is already falling up high, with some forecasts pointing to 20–30cm of fresh snow across Queenstown & Wānaka over the coming days, and talk that this could be one of the biggest snowfalls of the season so far.
