Ikat is less a fabric and more a feat of foresight. Practised in weaving communities across India, most famously in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Gujarat, it is defined by its signature blurred patterns. The magic lies in the method: each thread is dyed in sections before weaving, with the final design existing only in the weaver’s mind until the loom brings it to life.
