An outing that was stopped on La Bajada Hill, New Mexico, in 1910. This would become Route 66 in 1926. That must have been quite a ride up that hill for people unfamiliar with it in 1926 or '27! We can't tell whether the photographer placed a rock behind one of his tires before taking the photo. It is interesting how people dressed up for a ride back then.
