✈️ Important Travel Info for Travellers with Type 1 Diabetes ✈️

One of our Dreaming advisors has a teenage daughter with T1D. Her advice to other parents of TD1 kids: “Do NOT let it keep you from going!!”

Here are some important airport security screening tips:

🧳 If you have a bag specifically for your Diabetes supplies, mark it clearly as a “medical/diabetic bag”. It will not count as one of your items. **TD1 travelers are allowed their 2 carry on items AND the medical bag.

🔍Place any extra electronic devices such as CGMs in clear plastic bags. They will require a visual inspection and an ETD (Explosive Trace Detection) test.

🧪 During the ETD screening, security officers will usually place your items in a tray. They are required to maintain control of the items being screened at all times.

❌ Electronic Diabetes supplies do NOT go through the X-ray machine with your hand luggage. Items such as a CGM will need to be removed from your bag (we suggest putting them in a Ziploc) and handed to the security officer. **Make sure they know it does NOT go through the x-ray machine.

❌ If the T1D is wearing a CGM or pump, they do NOT go through the body scanner. **They CAN go through the regular walk through x-ray machine.

❌ DO NOT pack supplies in your checked bag. **It will get too hot for insulin and the bag could possibly go through an x-ray machine which could deactivate your devices.

🧃 Pack some extra snacks and even juice for unwanted lows. (It’s possible the 3oz rule is overlooked for this, but we haven’t tested that)

✅ To make the process smoother:

*Pack your diabetes supplies in clear plastic bags.
*Label any prescriptions or medical devices if possible.
*Inform the screening officer that you have Type 1 diabetes and are carrying medical supplies.
*Allow a little extra time at security for the additional checks.

🧳 Being prepared helps make your journey safer and less stressful.

✅ It’s TRUE!!!

Each night guests rotate to 1 of 3 dining rooms at the SAME table “number” with the SAME service “team” with a UNIQUE dining “story/theme”.

On the TREASURE, we had these 6 dinners INCLUDED
