Every year on the first Saturday of March the Iditarod ceremonial start brings excitement to Anchorage
Mushers will line up on 4th Avenue and “D” Street and set off on their 1,000‑mile journey. You can line up anywhere along the 11 mile route through town to cheer them on.
Our home is the perfect base – just a ten minute drive to this spot close enough to high five the teams as they sled past.
