The "Manaslu-26" team spent their first night at base camp, located at an altitude of 4,800 meters. Everyone is feeling energetic and in high spirits. After breakfast, we took a walk up from the camp to the first fixed ropes. It has been raining since early morning, so an umbrella and a raincoat are our standard gear for exploring the area.

The "Manaslu-26" team set out today from the village of Samagaon for Manaslu Base Camp. The ascent involves a vertical gain of 1,400 meters and is quite steep. A light rain began a couple of hours into the hike and continued all day. At Base Camp, we were welcomed by the Sherpa team with the Russian national anthem and a reception. Afterward, we settled into comfortable tents equipped with beds and electricity. Then came lunch: borscht, fish, and fresh vegetables. The rest of the time was spent resting, having dinner, undergoing medical checks, and discussing plans for the next day. Expedition leader Alexander Abramov, Base Camp manager Svetlana Kotlyar, and guides Andrey Berezin and Vitaly Shipilov.

Greetings from the Elbrus region! The "International" group is continuing its acclimatization, now directly on the slopes of Elbrus. Yesterday, we drove up to our "National Park" shelter. After settling in, we headed out onto the slope, climbed a bit higher, and practiced using ice axes and belaying techniques. Then, in the evening, our connection was cut off. Greetings from the slopes of the majestic—and now frosty—Mount Elbrus! Today was a truly exciting day for our "25" team. Since the cable car is closed for scheduled maintenance, we made the ascent to our high-altitude "National Park" camp (3,900 m) in a powerful 4WD Ural truck. It was a real adventure! After arriving and settling into our comfortable cabins, we headed out for snow training near the "Priyut 11" (Shelter 11) site (4,100 m). We were met with an unexpected chill as soon as we reached the shelter's altitude. You can feel the breath of winter here; the first snow has fallen on the slopes of Elbrus and is settling firmly above the 3,500-meter mark. Tomorrow, we head up to the Pastukhov Rocks (4,700 m). The forecast promises good weather, but we are still bringing warm gear to ensure we are prepared for any conditions.

Trekking to Manaslu Base Camp. Yesterday, an official warning was issued about flooding causing significant damage to trekking trails in the Manaslu area. The flood washed away several bridges, and for now, we will not be able to continue our beautiful and scenic route.

Today we reached a place called Pilim, located 7 kilometers from Jagat at an altitude of 1,500 meters. We hit the trail after lunch to dry our gear after yesterday's adventures.

We managed to complete this short trek before the rain! Today we saw beautiful views of the confluence of two rivers, stunning waterfalls, crossed several suspension bridges, and encountered a dozen local (rather large!) lizards along the way.
The village of Pilim is larger than Jagat; it has more houses, lodges, and shops. There's also a monastery, which we plan to visit tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow morning, we hope to fly by helicopter to Samagaon and meet the climbing team, which has assembled there today.

Greetings from the already autumn-chilly, but no less beautiful Elbrus region. Today, our new group began acclimatization before their ascent of Mount Elbrus. Today, we climbed the slopes of Mount Cheget to the famous Ai Café (2,750 m). The weather was mixed. The morning greeted us with rain and a crisp autumn chill. Then the sun came out, and we warmed up in its rays. And at the end of our hike, the sky surprised us with snow. But we were prepared for anything; the right gear helped us comfortably navigate the planned route.
This hike was an excellent preparation for the rest of the ascent. Moments like these—the oneness with nature, the pleasant slight fatigue after the climb, and the astonishing beauty of Cheget in autumn—are unforgettable, giving us a feeling of absolute freedom, warmth, and genuine happiness.
