As part of our 2025 Environmental Health and Safety week, several of our plants participated in Project Butterfly. This project is our Biodiversity Initiative to create habitats for this vital indicator species.

· Monarchs also favor Blazing Stars, Beggarticks, Thistles, Crownbeards, Goldenrods, and Asters

For Common Blues:

· Other suitable plants include Greater Bird’s-foot-trefoil, Black Medick, common Restharrow, White Clover, and Lesser Trefoil.

Meet Michele Apuli, the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager supporting ProAmpac’s Hartford and Sugar Grove facilities. Since joining the company over five years ago, Michele has been a driving force in strengthening site safety, building compliance programs from the ground up, and fostering a culture where safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Originally starting her career in Human Resources, Michele’s path shifted after witnessing the real-life impact of workplace injuries. This experience fueled her commitment to becoming an advocate for employee well-being and safety—and she’s never looked back.

Michele’s leadership style is rooted in collaboration and humility. “I approach every concern as a team member—we’re in it together to solve problems,” Michele shared.

Meet Jesse Hodges, Maintenance Manager at ProAmpac's Rocky Mount facility. With nearly a decade at ProAmpac, Hodges has grown from a technician to a supervisor and now to a manager—bringing a passion for continuous learning, leadership, and mentorship at every stage of his journey.

Early on, Hodges dedicated himself to mastering the technical side of maintenance, especially electrical troubleshooting. After years of hands-on experience, he had what he calls a “lightbulb moment”—a breakthrough that transformed not only how he worked but also how he teaches and supports his team today.
His leadership style is grounded in humility, respect, and a deep commitment to helping others succeed.

This year, the ProAmpac facility in Auburn, Washington, is proud to co-sponsor the Charger Robotics FIRST Robotics team from Kentridge High School. FIRST Robotics is a renowned high school program where students, guided by adult mentors, design, build, and program robots to compete in themed games each year. This program emphasizes STEM learning, teamwork, and gracious professionalism, all within a fun and competitive environment.

The Auburn facility eagerly embraced the opportunity to support these future engineers. Who knows? Perhaps some of them will pursue careers in the packaging industry. Regardless, we wish the Charger Robotics team the best of luck in their 2025 competitions.
