🚢🌴 I Loved This Itinerary So Much… I’M DOING IT AGAIN! Who Wants to Join Me? 🎉

I’ve really enjoyed my time aboard Freedom of the Seas, especially the ports of call! From Aruba 🇦🇼 and Curaçao 🇨🇼 to Cabo Rojo in the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴, this has been a fantastic trip!

In fact, I enjoyed these destinations so much that I’m doing them again in January!

And I’ve been thinking… WHY NOT MAKE IT A GROUP CRUISE? 👀🚢

🇨🇼 Thursday, January 21 – Willemstad, Curaçao

🚢 Friday, January 22 – Day at Sea

🚢 Saturday, January 23 – Day at Sea

🇺🇸 Sunday, January 24 – Return to Fort Lauderdale

Bernie is my Dad’s service dog, a handsome Golden Retriever, and officially the goodest boy at sea! 🐾

He’s also a seasoned cruiser! Bernie has earned Diamond status 💎 with Royal Caribbean! Yes, even the dog has loyalty status! 😂🚢

And for those wondering how a service dog handles bathroom breaks on a cruise ship, Bernie has his own special setup! He uses a designated mulch box on the Promenade Deck. 🐕🚢

Bernie loves cruising with Dad, and he’s always ready for another adventure!

🚢🌎 LOVE TO CRUISE? EVER THOUGHT ABOUT BECOMING A TRAVEL AGENT? 💰

I’m looking for people who love to travel, especially cruising, and might be interested in exploring an opportunity in the travel industry!

For those who don’t know me, I’m Scott, owner of Elk Spring Travel. I spend about two-thirds of the year living aboard cruise ships while working remotely for a nonprofit, taking college classes, and running my travel agency.

One of the things I love about this business is that I can book vacations from just about anywhere. In fact, I regularly book cruises for clients while I’m sailing aboard the very ships I’m selling!

Many of my clients are people I’ve met while cruising. We become friends, stay in touch, and eventually I help them plan their next adventure.

Another Day, Another Deck! 🌎🚢

If there’s one thing life has taught me, it’s that tomorrow is never promised. 💙

I carry a little piece of someone I love with me every time I cruise. Her ashes are in this necklace. But, I’d give anything for her to be standing beside me instead.

Sometimes, out of nowhere, she just pops into my head. I could be doing absolutely nothing special, and suddenly the memories come flooding back. The laughs, the conversations, the little moments I didn’t realize would one day mean so much. Sometimes those memories make me smile, and sometimes they bring tears to my eyes. Sometimes both.

Grief is funny like that. Life keeps moving, you’re out making new memories, and suddenly you’re reminded of someone you wish was still here making them with you. ❤️

It’s a bittersweet reminder that life is short, time is precious, and the people we love are worth so much more than anything money could ever buy.

So take the trip. Make the memories. Take the pictures. Dance like nobody is watching. Laugh until your stomach hurts. Tell people you love them. Stop waiting for the perfect time to start living.

Because one day, all we have left are the memories and the little pieces of the people we wish were still here.

Don’t just exist. LIVE. Because we never know how much time you might have. ❤️

🚢🌎 Another Day, Another Deck — Always Learning, Always Exploring!

Greetings from aboard Royal Caribbean’s beautiful Freedom of the Seas! ⚓

At Elk Spring Travel, we believe that being a great travel advisor means constantly learning, exploring new destinations, and experiencing the places we recommend to our clients.

And that’s exactly how I’ve been spending my sea day!

☕ Professional Development: I started my morning meeting with my travel agent mentor for some back-to-basics training and industry updates. I also added a new supplier to Elk Spring Travel’s resources — GetYourGuide! This gives us another option for helping clients discover tours, excursions, and unique experiences at destinations around the world.

👑 Royal Caribbean Experience: I attended the Crown & Anchor Top Tier event aboard Freedom of the Seas. As a Diamond Plus member and frequent Royal Caribbean cruiser, I love staying connected with the cruise experience firsthand. It’s one of the ways I can help clients better understand loyalty benefits and what to expect onboard.

🐋 Destination Training — La Paz, Mexico! 🇲🇽

Today I also completed a travel advisor training session focused on La Paz, Mexico!

This destination has some incredible opportunities for marine wildlife experiences, including whale watching and encounters with whale sharks!

I’ll actually be visiting La Paz on THREE different cruises this December, including one during the Christmas season! 🎄

I’m especially excited to explore the area firsthand, learn more about its attractions, and discover excursion opportunities that I can share with future clients.

After all, there’s nothing quite like recommending a destination you’ve personally experienced!

📚 Continuing Education: Outside of the travel industry, I’m also pursuing additional college coursework in Artificial Intelligence and Domestic Violence at the University of Maryland Global Campus. I’m a big believer that learning never stops!

🌴 Next Up: Aruba & Curaçao! 🇦🇼🇨🇼

Tomorrow, Freedom of the Seas arrives in Aruba, followed by Curaçao on Monday!

With the holiday weekend giving me some extra time away from my nonprofit housing work, I’m looking forward to getting out and exploring both destinations.

These are two beautiful Southern Caribbean ports, and I’m excited to experience more of what they have to offer!
