Cruising through Lyon, Vienne, and other riverfront towns.

We started the morning in Lyon, then sailed to Vienne in the afternoon, a small city with Roman influences and architecture.

Spending the day learning about French wines in chateaus with 😊

Chateau de Rully is a lovely castle winery along La Route Des Chateaux, a collection of beautiful castles in the Burgundy wine region. The castle was passed down in the same family for 26 generations, and we got to meet the family who lives there and owns the winery.

It's time to start thinking about Christmas! Yes, Christmas in July!

Imagine cruising down the Danube or Rhine rivers this winter with snow-dusted villages in the distance and mulled wine and roasted chestnuts in the air. Welcome to Ketchikan-Alaska's first city and the salmon capital of the world!

We spent time exploring historic Creek Street, a really unique street built up above the creek with some of the best shopping you'll find on your cruise.

Then, we did a little wildlife excursion and saw lots of bald eagles and some seals too! We were lucky to see salmon swimming in the creek too, as its still a little early in the season for them to make their way up the creek.

The lumberjack show is always a good time as well!

Juneau's Mendenhall Glacier!

Mendenhall Glacier is the main site to see in Juneau. There's a great view from the visitor center, and from there you can continue on the easy 2 mile trail to Nugget Falls, where you'll have views of the glacier along the way.

Afterwards, back in the town of Juneau, we took the Goldbelt tram up for even better views. There's a great hike up here with some of the best views I saw in Alaska!

More from Skagway, Alaska...just some of the fabulous hiking you can do after you finish the White Pass scenic train. The lower Dewey Lake trail was my favorite, but for something easier try the quick Yakutania point and smugglers cove trail.
