🎓🏔️ A Graduation Celebration to Remember

One of the greatest privileges we have at Explorer Tours is being part of our guests' special moments.

Recently, Emily Romero and her family joined Eric for a private tour of Rocky Mountain National Park to celebrate their daughter's college graduation. What a wonderful way to mark such an important milestone—surrounded by family, spectacular mountain scenery, wildlife, and the beauty of Colorado.

From scenic overlooks and alpine lakes to unforgettable family photos, the day was filled with laughter, memories, and plenty of opportunities to soak in the magic of the Rockies. Eric loved sharing the park with such a fun and appreciative family.

🎉 Welcome to Explorer Tours, Alexis Miller! 🎉

We're thrilled to introduce the newest member of our guide team, Alexis Miller.

Alexis has called Colorado home for the past 10 years and brings a passion for the outdoors that is contagious. She has summited 9 of Colorado's famous 14ers and has worked in numerous outdoor education settings, helping people of all ages connect with nature, learn new skills, and build confidence in the outdoors.

A devoted dog lover and owner herself, Alexis understands that some of life's best moments happen outside—whether it's on a mountain trail, beside an alpine lake, or simply sharing a beautiful view with others.

One of the things we love most about Alexis is her belief that exploring is more meaningful when it's shared. She enjoys helping guests discover Colorado's incredible landscapes, wildlife, history, and hidden gems while creating memories that last long after the tour is over.

Where Colorado Comes to Life.

Some days in Rocky Mountain National Park feel like stepping into a wildlife documentary—and this was one of them.

Our guests were treated to an unforgettable day of Colorado wildlife sightings, including:

🫎 A majestic moose up close
🐻 An adorable baby bear (a truly magical moment!)
🦌 Deer grazing in the meadows
🦌 Elk sparring in a dramatic display of strength and nature

The excitement on our guests’ faces said it all. Cameras were clicking, jaws were dropping, and memories were made that will last a lifetime.

Where Colorado Comes to Life.

Today we’re shining a spotlight on Robert—one of those rare guides who turns a great tour into an unforgettable experience. Cynthia said it best (see review 👇), and if you’ve toured with Robert, you know… he truly goes the extra mile.

From guiding in the Grand Canyon to leading adventures across West Africa, India, and the Far East, Robert brings a global perspective—and a storyteller’s heart—to every mile. He’s passionate about people, the outdoors, and sharing the magic of Colorado in a way that sticks with you long after the tour ends.

🎬 Fun fact: Robert worked as a stuntman for Paramount Pictures and was part of the Academy Award-winning film Terms of Endearment.

This is what makes Explorer Tours special—guides who don’t just lead the journey, they elevate it.



We thought we signed up for a tour.

What we actually got was:

* a mobile classroom
* a hydration station
* an altitude survival guide
* and a man named Robert who has apparently been everywhere on Earth and decided to emotionally connect it all back to Denver

We learned things. A LOT of things.
Like… “wait, why is this so interesting??” levels of things.

We voted on stops. We influenced the journey.
Democracy? On a tour bus? Revolutionary.

Highlights include:

* Red Rocks making us feel spiritually superior
* Buffalo hiding in the hills like Bill was on our tour
* Elk just casually existing like they own the place (they do)
* Buffalo Bill’s grave because of course that’s a thing
* Evergreen Lake where we consumed a crookie (life-changing)
* Skateboarders performing like we accidentally attended the X Games
* Downtown Golden where we fashionista-ed in a boutique and blissed out on a river walk

Meanwhile:
Robert is mic’d up like a TED Talk
Handing out water, snacks, and Gatorade like a wellness influencer
Monitoring altitude like a concerned parent
Adjusting temperature like a luxury vehicle setting

We were:
educated
hydrated
emotionally supported

And somehow also entertained the entire time.

Eric had an absolute blast showing Ashley and Krista around Rocky Mountain National Park—and let’s just say, they may have been the best-dressed guests we’ve ever had.

Even the wildlife couldn’t look away… pretty sure a few elk were doing double takes. 🦌

Job Description
Explorer Tours offers diverse tours for small groups of less than 14 guests. We are a client-driven, client-focused company looking to provide only exceptional services from exceptional guides. A typical tour may last anywhere from 4 hours to 8 hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF TOUR GUIDES:

• Weekends are a must. Have to be able to work weekends.
• Schedules are diverse; you’ll lead both half and full-day tours in outdoor settings.
• You’ll spend the majority of your time alone with clients, making it imperative you be a responsible self-starter.
• You must be qualified and able to safely operate Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit vans, and Extended SUV’s to transport clients. Vans hold 14 passengers.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner of conduct at all times and with all clients, coworkers, and affiliates.
• Applicants must be a resident of Colorado. No exceptions.
• Applicants must hold a valid Colorado driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
• Potential employees must obtain a DOT medical examiner’s certificate, which will include passing a physical and drug screen.
• College degree is preferred, but equivalent life experience will be considered.

• Guides will provide knowledgeable, accurate commentary for clients related to the area of tour.
• You must be qualified and able to safely operate Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit vans and Extended SUV’s to transport clients. Vans hold 14 passengers.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner of conduct at all times and with all clients, coworkers, and affiliates.
• Applicants must be a resident of Colorado. No exceptions.
• Applicants must hold a valid Colorado driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
• Potential employees must obtain a DOT medical examiner’s certificate, which will include passing a physical and drug screen.
