What was life like 100’s of years ago on Na Pali coast, Hawaii? 

For centuries, Native Hawaiians lived in valleys like Kalalau, farming taro in terraced loʻi and fishing along the rugged shoreline. These communities were self-sustaining, connected to the land and sea in ways that shaped daily life.

The coastline is also woven with moʻolelo (Hawaiian stories) passed down through generations. These tales spoke of ancient people, powerful chiefs, and sacred places turned to stone. Many landmarks along Nā Pali carry names rooted in these histories, each with meaning tied to the land.

Understanding Nā Pali’s past adds depth to every view. This is not an empty wilderness.  Na Pali Coast state park is a place shaped by culture, resilience, and time.

We are happy to announce Capt Andy’s raft expeditions are scheduled to resume 9/26!

Along with our Catamaran sailing tours resuming on 9/21, we are happy to say our raft tours will be opening up just 5 days later.

After 12 days out of the water at Nawiliwili harbor, Northern Star has officially returned to Port Allen in anticipation for our catamaran tours re-opening Sept 21st.

Big mahalo to our incredible crew working hard during dry dock, using our down days to get ready to welcome guests back. We look forward to adventuring with you soon! 🤙
