🤫Foodie Confession time. I’ve never been to Hatsuyaki Hand Roll until recently. I FINALLY bumped it to the top of the list. And oh my, I’m so glad I did.

✨As soon as you walk into , it’s a vibe. Firstly, there’s no table seating. The sushi chefs take center stage and there’s a U-shaped bar seating surrounding the action. Minimal wood accents define the spaces. Once seated you’re given your sushi menu and pencil where you make your menu choices.

šŸ£If you haven’t figured out already they specialize in Hand Rolls. The sushi chef presents them to you as soon as they are made, which really makes for a nice flow. There’s lots of options but we went the Combo Menu that included bay scallops, crab, lobster and salmon and yellow tail. Watching your sushi chef in action is a unique part of the experience. Once again the sushi takes center stage, the hand rolls are simply prepared with sushi and rice enveloped in a just crispy enough seaweed wrapper (nori). No cream cheese or avocado bells and whistles here, they aren’t needed. Each bite was decadent and delicious and we didn’t want the meal to end. Each roll had its own story and flavors and it was hard to decide on our favorite. Jiro can dream is sushi, I’ll dream of Hatsuyski✨.

šŸ’«Here’s what you need to know if you are a first-timer. They do not take reservations and there can be a wait during their busy times. Please don’t let this stop you, it’s worth the wait! We wandered around and had a pre-dinner drink. šŸ“907 Foch Street

šŸŽ„It’s the Holiday Season and we could all use a cup of holiday cheer! Here’s 6 Festive spots that will make your spirits bright!

🤠 The is the perfect spot to experience a Cowtown Christmas!
ā˜‘ļø Huge Tree
ā˜‘ļø Festive Lobby
ā˜‘ļø Bonus Points for a Fireplace
Stroll the grounds and try one of their holiday cocktails, on my last visit I enjoyed a classic Old-Fashioned. Take in the tree or cozy up next to the fireplace.

šŸ¹ On a recent trip to I unexpectedly felt like I was having a very Mele Kalikimaka Christmas. A tropical drink in hand, a very piratey Christmas tree, cozy seating and the low-key cool yet moody tropical atmosphere filled a gap I didn’t even know was missing. Cheers to their High Priestess of Funk drink that hit the spot!

šŸŽ… There’s a ā€œMiracleā€ happening at . Everything that isn’t nailed down is festooned in Christmas regalia and it’s a fun and popular spot. Their snowball Old Fashioned is just one of the many Christmas-themed drinks on their pop-up menu.

🌷 You’ll find a FREE show tonight with local favorite . Their seasonal cocktails include the Persimmon Sour with Woodford Rye, House Persimmon Simple, Lemon Juice and Bitters. With the weather warming up over the holidays, their patio is the best spot to enjoy cocktails and conversations.

🄃 Cool cocktails and a Fort Worth-chic lounge make this a worthy spot to unwind from the busy-nesss of the holidays. Visit on a day when serve their stellar smash burgers. I was excited to see my buddy Jonathan Arguello working the grill at his burger pop-up recently. It paired nicely with an Old-Fashioned!

ā˜• I’ve been frequenting for their Cafe de Olla and Mexican cookies and pastries. They are serving up a Coquito Latte just in time for the Holidays. It’s a bright space and their Christmas tree filled with festive Mexican ornaments never fails to make me smile. Kudos to the brilliant mind that adorned the tree with mini Mercado bags.
