Waterfront Restaurant Week kicks off next Sunday, March 8! 🎉

Get ready to dig in and celebrate one of the most delicious weeks of the year along the waterfront. 🍽️🌊

As we count down to the big week, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible chefs who make it all happen. Don't forget to take a look at the digital dining guide to view all Restaurant Week offering (link in comments).

🔥 Meet the Chef Behind the Flavor. At Tides Tavern , every dish tells a story — and Chef John Vincent Palacio is the storyteller.

Born and raised on Kauai, Chef John Vincent Palacio’s culinary journey is rooted in the island’s rich cultural heritage. Influenced by Hawaiian, Filipino, Portuguese and Japanese cuisines, he developed a passion for food that celebrates tradition and brings people together.

Starting at the famed Beach House Restaurant in Po’ipu, John worked his way up, mastering the basics that shaped his career.
He was later hired At Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club where he refined his skills in seafood and grilling, showcasing fresh, local ingredients.

For 14 years, John has been part of Tides Tavern team, serving as Executive Chef for the past 9 years. His favorite dish is their World Famous Halibut Fish and Chips with house-made tartar sauce.

Beyond the kitchen, John channels his creativity into music as the lead guitarist and singer for the local rock band IGNITE. Chef John currently resides in Port Orchard, WA, where he lives with his wife, 9 year old son and French Bulldog named “Riff”.

This Waterfront Restaurant Week, come celebrate the talent, passion, and heart behind the scenes. 🍽️✨

We have been so spoiled by the beautiful weather lately in Gig Harbor. Crisp mornings, calm waters, and skies painted in soft pastels. The sunrises and sunsets have been nothing short of magical, with glowing pinks and golden hues wrapping the harbor in pure serenity. Moments like these are a reminder of how special it is to live here, slowing down just long enough to take it all in.
