Day 3 marked the final chapter of our incredible journey with Canyon Spirit, and what a way to end it!

We were up early this morning for a guided visit to Arches National Park before the crowds, and it was absolutely worth it. The knowledge shared by our guides brought the landscape to life, and the views were simply breathtaking. We had time to wander the trails, take photos, climb among the unique rock formations, and truly experience this remarkable place up close.

After our tour , we returned to the train and were warmly welcomed back by the outstanding Canyon Spirit team. Another fabulous lunch awaited us as we settled i. For an afternoon of spectacular scenery, fascinating stories, and insights into the history and geography of the American West. A light and delicious dinner was served shortly before our arrival in Salt Lake City.

As we said our goodbyes to the wonderful staff who had cared for us throughout the journey, it was hard to believe our adventure had come to an end. We were transferred to our hotel for one final night before heading home and being and being reunited with family.

Ruby Canyon & Canyonlands National Park

Day 2 aboard Canyon Spirit’s Rockies to the Reds journey delivered another unforgettable chapter of this incredible adventure.

This morning we departed the charming mountain town of Glenwood Springs and spent the day enjoying another incredible selection of gourmet breakfast and lunch offerings as we rolled westward through some of the most breathtaking scenery in the American West. The highlight of the rail journey was Ruby Canyon, where towering crimson cliffs and dramatic rock formations create a landscape accessible only by rail or river.

After arriving in Maob, we continued the adventure with a visit to Canyonlands National Park. Calling it vast hardly does it justice. Endless canyons, mesas, and rock formations stretched to the horizon, creating views that felt almost unreal. It’s easy to see why this landscape has served as the backdrop for so many iconic Hollywood films.

Another unforgettable day in the books. One more day of adventure awaits bright and early tomorrow morning—stay tuned!

Travel lesson of the day:

No matter how much you travel, the airlines will occasionally humble you.

Today's adventure included:

✈️ Boarding the plane.
✈️ Getting off the plane.
✈️ Boarding the plane again.
✈️ Getting off the plane again.

And an unexpected detour through Atlanta that turned a simple trip home into an all-day event.

Not ideal.

But travel isn't about perfect days.

It's about what you do when the day isn't perfect.

So I'll take the delay, the reroute, the extra hours, and add them to the collection of stories that seem frustrating in the moment and funny later.

Although I may need another whiskey before they become funny. 🥃😂✈️
