For those who don’t know, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has its own private island in the Bahamas — and it’s been getting quite the makeover. 🌴

Great Stirrup Cay is a stop on many NCL Caribbean and Bahamas cruises, where guests can spend the day swimming, relaxing on the beach, grabbing a bite or simply enjoying a day ashore.

And beginning Friday, September 4, there will be another way to spend that island day with the opening of Great Tides Waterpark.

For those looking for adventure, the nearly six-acre waterpark brings 19 waterslides, cliff jumps, a sprawling kids’ splash area and an 800+ foot Wandering River.

But here’s what we really like about the changes at Great Stirrup Cay: your island day doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

Spend it stretched out on a white-sand beach. Cool off in the huge Great Life Lagoon. Find a swim-up bar. Bring the kids to splash and play. Or add a Great Tides day pass and make it a full-on waterpark day.

And one thing that’s good to know: Great Tides is an optional, additional-cost experience. You don’t need a waterpark ticket to enjoy Great Stirrup Cay and its beaches, pool and other included island experiences.

🇫🇯 Fiji is probably not what you think it is 🇫🇯

Yes, there are palm trees, impossibly blue water and those beautiful island resorts you've seen in pictures.

But Fiji is also an archipelago of more than 300 islands, with lush mountains, rainforests, waterfalls, incredible reefs and communities where traditions that have been passed down for generations are still very much a part of life.

There's kava shared as a welcome. Traditional lovo feasts cooked underground. Stories told through meke—song and dance. And on the island of Beqa, a firewalking tradition that dates back centuries.

🥥 **It's World Coconut Day — and we're celebrating in Fiji!** 🇫🇯
Coconuts have been part of life in Fiji for generations, woven into the islands' food, traditions and even their history. Coconut products such as copra were once an important part of Fiji's economy, and coconut remains a familiar ingredient in Fijian cooking today.

One delicious example is **kokoda** — fresh fish marinated in citrus and served with coconut milk and fresh vegetables. 🥥🐟

And that's just one little taste of Fiji. With more than 300 islands, spectacular reefs and lagoons, lush landscapes and a culture famous for its warm welcome, there's much more to discover.

At the beginning of August, we told you that South Africa is so much more than a safari.

And all month long, we've tried to show you why.

We've traveled its dramatic coastline. Watched whales from the shores of Hermanus. Walked among penguins. Tasted the wines of the Cape Winelands. Shared its food, its culture, its history and, most importantly, moments of connection with its people.

But we intentionally saved one experience for last.

✨Safari✨

There is something difficult to put into words about being in the African bush.

The stillness of an early morning. The enormous sky. The sound of the vehicle moving along a dusty path. And then suddenly, a giraffe appears between the trees. A herd of elephants crosses the road. A lion looks directly at you.

For a moment, you simply sit there and take it in.

Maybe that's part of the magic Brian Jackman was trying to describe.

South Africa did that for us.
