🇩🇴 Punta Cana, DR 🇩🇴
I am officially back home after spending 7 incredible nights/8 days at the absolutely beautiful Secrets Tides adult only all-inclusive beach front resort! While we have stayed at several Secrets resorts over the years, (we love Secrets resorts) this one by far was our favorite and the experience exceeded our expectations! This is one of their newest resorts in Punta Cana, and while the grounds are well manicured & gorgeous, what really made this resort so special was their staff! Every single member we came into contact with was so kind, helpful, patient, welcoming, & sincere. As a travel agent, this goes a long with me, and is something I pay close attention to. From the moment we arrived on the property, we were greeted with cold towels & a glass of ch*****ne, and immediately escorted to check in. Check in was smooth and easy.
This resort is one of their smaller properties, definitely not a massive resort, and the layout was well thought out for the most part, and was easy to navigate and get around. There were several restaurants down by the beach area, and the rest were towards the front area of the property near the main lobby & theatre area.
We opted to upgrade our stay to Preferred Club status, (which we always do at Secrets resorts) and it did not disappoint. We stayed in a preferred club swim out suite with butler service, and our butler Ray was top notch! I cannot brag on him enough. He was in contact with us daily, tried to cater to our every need or request, and even helped my husband plan a surprise private romantic dinner night in the gardens & also decorated our room, with a bottle of w**e & chocolates included. (Romantic dinner is an additional cost outside of the included all-inclusive food options)
We had the same daily pool attendants/waitresses our entire stay in the preferred pool area, and they were simply amazing and so very sweet. Their attention to detail and our daily preferences spoke volumes to us.
We also enjoyed visiting the preferred lounge bar daily each afternoon, greeted & taken care of by the lead bartender, Felix- he memorized my fave afternoon cocktail almost instantly, (espresso martini) and as soon as he saw me walk in each day, he was on it! Without me saying a word! 🍸
One of the perks to stay preferred here was the access to the beach front restaurant Oceana, where we dined for breakfast most mornings. (They were open for all 3 meal times) And again, the hostess & even waiters/waitresses learned our names and quickly remembered us each day. When I say this resort made us feel like family and so special, I mean it. In all the places & resorts we’ve stayed over the years, this one had a personal touch like we have honestly never experienced. The hospitality manager, Alvaro also made it a personal point to come introduce himself to us the day after we arrived and stayed in consistent contact with us throughout our entire stay. He even made the gesture of giving me his business at the end of our stay so in the future if I needed anything from him, I had his direct contact. The attentiveness we received at this resort far exceeded any other resort we have stayed pretty much any place else, and we’ve been all over!
For all-inclusive food, this resort overall exceeded our expectations. The buffet option was only open breakfast & lunch, but had great variety, was fresh & good in our opinion. Over the years as we’ve become seasoned travelers, staying at all-inclusive resorts has not really been our thing. And all-inclusive food in my opinion honestly tends to be a bit on the mediocre side since it is prepared for the masses daily. We typically prefer to dine & drink at local spots, immerse ourselves in the true local culture, however all-inclusive resorts are such a massive part of what I do book for so many of my clients year after year, so I felt staying at an all-inclusive would be the best option for this trip, and I am so glad we did. No regrets.
Our room was beautiful, very spacious, bed and pillows were so very comfortable, and our swim out pool was simply lovely. They kept our room well stocked daily with drinks & snacks, and the turn down service at night was a nice touch as well.
This resort has 4 beautiful pools, 1 of them being designated to the preferred club guests, 3 swim up bars, and complimentary cabanas for all guests, which is a little harder to find these days at many resorts, even all-inclusives. While we were there during “slow season” there seemed to be plenty of lounge chairs & beds all over the resort. Some of the most seating options I’ve seen available at any resort to be honest. I was impressed.
The resort is chill & laid back, they do have an entertainment staff that do conduct some activities during the day, but definitely not a party vibe by any means. Music does play by the pools during the day, but again no party type vibes. Up beat, but nothing crazy. Perfect atmosphere for those wanting a little “energy” during the day, without being wild or crazy.
The beach was well maintained, and the few days a little bit of seaweed that did try and wash up, their staff members were on it getting it cleared away.
We fell in love with the Dominican and this resort. So much so I am already planning our return. We love everything about this resort, and once again, we fell in love with the staff and they made it hard to leave. But they are also why we can’t wait to return. ♥️🙌🏼
