Your bonus should boost your overtime pay — that’s part of the overtime pay rules. ‼️

According to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), 29 CFR § 778.208, nondiscretionary bonuses — such as those for production, attendance, safety, or performance — must be included when calculating your regular rate of pay for overtime.

Wrapping Up a Summer of Interns ✨💼

As summer winds down and the school year approaches, we’re giving a big thank you to our final round of interns. This season, we were lucky to have bright high school students join us at JD.

From contributing across departments to getting hands-on experience with projects tied to FLSA wage violation issues, they stepped into meaningful work and rose to every challenge. Beyond the tasks and projects, we hope this internship gave them a deeper understanding of why defending workers’ rights matters so much—and how important it is to stand up for hardworking people who deserve fair pay.

We’re truly grateful for the energy, curiosity, and dedication they brought into the office. It’s been inspiring to watch them learn, grow, and contribute to our mission in such a short time. Thank you both for your help at JD!
