Next stop: the American Southwest!

Our teacher’s convention week vacation this year is taking us to desert landscapes, epic hikes, and incredible scenery.

We’ll be exploring a few of our nation’s wonderful national parks. Some are brand new to us (Arches and Canyonlands) and one is a return visit (Grand Canyon). We’ll also check out Monument Valley and Antelope Canyon along the way, with a relaxing visit in Sedona to end the trip.

While I’m leaving for LA tonight with my younger one to spend Halloween with my brother and his family, I’m officially out of office from this Sunday through the next Monday.

In between all the workshops, classes, and events at Ascend this past week, I was still busy behind the scenes taking care of my clients ✈️

During some down time at the event, I planned and booked this spring break getaway for a mom and daughter 💕

They’re headed to the fabulous Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana in a Club Swim-Up Suite. I packaged everything together with flights and transfers to make the trip easy from start to finish.

And here’s an extra perk! Since her daughter is 18, they’ll also have access to the neighboring adults-only Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana. So they’ll get to enjoy even more dining, amenities, and experiences during their stay!

Sunshine, pool time, a beautiful resort, and some quality mom-and-daughter time? Sounds like a pretty fantastic spring break 🤩

Tomorrow I'm heading to the Ascend Conference, an invitation-only event bringing together travel advisors and industry partners for a few days of workshops, classes, trade shows, and learning.

I'm excited for the opportunity to connect with travel partners, discover new experiences, and learn what's new in the industry.

The travel industry is always changing, and there's always something new to learn! I love having opportunities like this to stay up to date, expand my knowledge, and find even better ways to help my clients plan their vacations.

Remember when I said there was still time to book a vacation for Teachers Convention Week based on what I had planned and booked for a family last week?

Well you guys are keeping me on my toes… in a good way!

I just planned and booked an Italy trip for a family of three leaving in 2.5 weeks, and I LOVE that they’re making it happen!

Traveling during the low season can open up some great possibilities, even when you’re booking closer to departure.

So if you thought it was too late to plan something amazing… maybe it’s not! 🇮🇹

Can we talk about some of the things that *might* sound like a good idea when you’re planning a vacation, but maybe not so much when you’re actually on it?

A few favorites:

🏨 Asking me to book a hotel because it’s cheaper, but it’s not near anything you want to do.

🚂 Trying to squeeze in as many cities as possible, in a short amount of time. Packing, unpacking, trains, transfers, and realizing you haven’t actually seen anything yet…

✅ Scheduling every single minute. Running yourself ragged just to check boxes off… 🤷🏻‍♀️. Some of the best parts of traveling is the downtime to explore on your own.
