DAYS 11: GIVERNY

It’s our last full day in France! I can’t believe the trip is already over!

We spent the morning/afternoon in Giverny to see Monet’s house and gardens. The crowds were…intense. While we still enjoyed ourselves, it was definitively one of the more overwhelming experiences of the trip.

The gardens were beautiful, which was hard to believe considering the oppressive heat France had this summer.

I would recommend Giverny as a day trip from Paris if you’re not bothered by crowds. 🙂

We ended the day back in Paris, so I’m including some more shots of the Eiffel Tower.

🇫🇷📓🥐 THE FRANCE CHRONICLES 🥐📓🇫🇷

TGA’s European Specialist, Karen, is currently in France! She will be sharing a daily recap of her adventures for me to post here. We hope you enjoy reading them! 😊

DAYS 9-10: NORMANDY

For this portion of our trip we’re exploring Normandy.

Yesterday we started with a quick visit to Bayeux (the tapestry is currently in England so we didn’t get to see that) and a cider tasting, all on our way to Arromanches, where we’re staying right on the beach.

Today we did a full D-Day history tour. We saw Sainte-Mère-Église, Utah Beach, Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach, and the US Cemetery. All the sites were awe-inspiring.

It was a poignant and meaningful day, and we received a lot of great information. I always find it hard to photograph these types of experiences but I’ve included a few pictures of our stops.

Tomorrow is our last full day in France and we are headed to Giverny (to experience Monet’s house and garden) en route back to Paris.
