Special Learning Center is a place where hope begins, and possibilities grow. For 40 years, SLC has walked alongside children with developmental delays and disabilities and their families, providing the specialized education, therapy, care, and support they need to succeed. Every child who comes through our doors has unique strengths, challenges, and potential, and we are committed to helping them reach it.
At SLC, we celebrate first words, first steps, and every milestone in between. We know that behind each achievement is a family that has faced uncertainty, worry, and countless obstacles. That's why we do more than provide services. We become partners, cheerleaders, advocates, and a source of encouragement when families need it most.
Every day, children with extraordinary potential learn, grow, and gain the skills they need to navigate the world with greater confidence and independence. Through early intervention, specialized education, pediatric therapies, and family support, we help build brighter futures for hundreds of children across Mid-Missouri. Our dedicated team works alongside each child and family, turning uncertainty into hope, challenges into victories, and milestones into life-changing achievements.
Funds raised help fill the gap that funding alone cannot cover. They help provide the extra therapy session, the adaptive equipment, the specialized classroom support, and the resources families need during some of their most challenging moments. Last year, we served over 900 children across 11 central Missouri counties and 22 school districts, and the need for services continues to grow.
