Tomorrow will be a truly special night, and you are incredibly lucky to be on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi for this extraordinary lunar eclipse. This is a rare, one-night-only experience, the Moon will rise already immersed in Earth’s shadow and slowly return to the light before your eyes!

2026年8月27日、月面の約96％が地球の影に入る、皆既月食に限りなく近い「深い部分月食」が起こります。
ハワイでは、月食のピークは月が昇る前。
そのため東の空から現れるのは、すでに地球の影に包まれ、赤銅色に染まった月です。
闇に入っていく月ではなく、
闇をくぐり抜け、少しずつ光を取り戻していく月。
サンセットを楽しんだあと、標高約2,800メートルのマウナケアで、影の中から昇る月と、地球の影から解放されていく様子を望遠鏡で観察します。その後は、月食の夜の特別な星空をご案内いたします。

現在、マウナケア山頂へのアクセス道路は復旧工事のため閉鎖されています。本ツアーは山頂には上がらず、標高約2,800メートル付近で催行いたします。

“The Moon Rising from Earth’s Shadow”
Lunar Eclipse Sunset & Stargazing Tour
On August 27, 2026, a very deep partial lunar eclipse will occur, with approximately 96% of the Moon’s surface immersed in Earth’s shadow at the global maximum—just short of a total lunar eclipse.
In Hawaiʻi, the eclipse reaches its peak before the Moon rises. This means the Moon will appear above the eastern horizon already deeply eclipsed, possibly glowing in shades of copper and red.
It is not a Moon entering the darkness, but a Moon that has already traveled through it—slowly emerging from Earth’s shadow and returning to the light.
After enjoying the sunset, we will watch the eclipsed Moon rise from Mauna Kea at approximately 9,200 feet (2,800 meters). Through our telescope, we will observe the Moon gradually emerge from Earth’s shadow, followed by a guided stargazing experience beneath this extraordinary night sky.

Hotel pickup times vary depending on location.
The access road to the Mauna Kea summit is currently closed for repairs. This special tour will not visit the summit and will take place at approximately 9,200 feet.
