The National Weather Service has issued a Hurricane Watch for the Island of Hawaii for Tropical Storm Nolo, earlier referred to as Tropical Depression 15-E.

As of 11 AM, Tropical Storm Nolo is located 310 mile south of South Point, with sustained winds of 40 MPH, and moving WNW at 6 MPH.

Hurricane force winds of 74 MPH or greater are forecast to possibly occur within the next 48 hours. 

Due to the Hurricane Watch:

Please continue to prepare your property for possible heavy rains and damaging winds.

Take this time to secure outdoor items and your property for possible flooding conditions.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hurricane Watch for Hawaiʻi County.
 
Tropical Depression 15-E has strengthened into Tropical Storm Nolo.
 
A Hurricane Watch means that hurricane conditions are possible within the watch area. A watch is typically issued 48 hours before the anticipated first occurrence of tropical-storm-force winds, conditions that make outdoor preparations difficult or dangerous.

The NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center has issued a Hurricane Watch for Hawaii Island and reports that the former Tropical Depression 15-E is now Tropical Storm Nolo, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. NOW is the time to prepare for possible storm impacts, including high winds and flooding rains.

The onset of damaging tropical storm force winds on the Big Island could be as early as Friday morning, with dangerous hurricane force winds possible by Friday night, U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) reports.
