Today started out like many of our more laid back days at Walt Disney World. We slept in, enjoyed a delicious breakfast at our resort and then headed to Winter Summerland for a little putt putt. Then we decided it was a good day to hit all 4 parks! Magic Kingdom > Epcot > Animal Kingdom > Hollywood Studios! At each park we rode at least two rides. We also used each mode of transportation at WDW - monorail, bus, water taxi, and Skyliner. With older kids and seasoned travelers, parkhopper allows this kind of flexibility. We were also able to make a few resort stops to see decorations! 🥰🎄

When your kid says he had sushi with a friend and wants to try it again, you go to the place with the best sushi on Disney property! IYKYK

What. A. Day!
4AM wake up for a 6:10am flight and in Hollywood Studios at 9:35am! Had tons of fun on some of our favorite rides and seeing characters in their holiday best.

Back to the resort after lunch for a nap and an impromptu itinerary change to visit Magic Kingdom at night instead of Epcot. Stopped by Boardwalk to see decorations and gingerbread house (post to follow) then off to MK! Changing dining reservations is so simple and allowed us to snag dinner in the park. And I’m all for planning, but flexibility and spontaneity can be fun too (though lightning lanes were key). We’ve ridden rides, watched a parade and fireworks, and shopped. The magic doesn’t stop with pre-teens and teens - it just goes later into the night! And I’m here for it because seeing all the Christmas lights. 🥰 Closing down Magic Kingdom before a super chill day tomorrow!

After our time in Italy it was time to board Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas for a 7 night Mediterranean cruise! Getting to the port city of Ravenna was quite the adventure (the train from Bologna was the absolute worst I’ve ever encountered - even worse than the London tube at rush hour), but after a stressful morning we enjoyed adventures for the next week, including:

*Split, Croatia
*Dubrovnik, Croatia
*Santorini, Greece
*we were supposed to port at Mykonos but due to high winds had to skip the island enjoy a day at sea
*Athens, Greece

We had some amazing experiences like swimming in the Adriatic and Aegean Seas (🥶), seeing the amazing landscapes of Croatia and Greece, witnessing history along the way. Every adventure brings something new!

Ah, Firenze! I’ve long called Florence my favorite Italian city. Though in the last 23 years I can say that the tourist population has grown tremendously!! With just 2 quick days in this Tuscan beauty, we did a lot!

* walking tour hitting the highlights of the city, including the Uffizi plaza, Il Duomo, New Market, and Academia
*viewed the statue of David
*an amazing dinner at La Buchetta (HIGHLY recommend!)
*time on the Ponte Vecchio and along the Arno River
*shopping in Central Market
*lunch at Eataly
*Private authentic Tuscan cooking class making fresh pasta and gelato
*visited rhe oldest chocolatier in Florence

We’re off on our next adventure! 🇮🇹🇭🇷🇬🇷

Ciao dell Italia! 🇮🇹. Many of you know me as a Disney girl, but looooong before my reinvigorated love of Disney I traveled throughout Europe as a student and young adult. I’ve been back a few times since then, particularly to the UK, but this vacation is a family visit starting in Italy and ending in Greece.

Our first stop brings us to Venezia (Venice), where we’ve enjoyed St. Mark’s Basilica, Doge’s Palace, visits to the islands of Murano (where we saw a glass blowing demonstration) and Burano.

Lots of seafood and gelato have been consumed. 🍨

Next stop, Firenze (Florence)

After a fun-filled couple of days at Walt Disney World, we boarded Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Treasure. With an amazing itinerary including stops in Tortola and San Juan as well as Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, this was the perfect escape. Some of the highlights are pictured: a catamaran day sail on Tortola, visiting historical sites and Old San Juan in Puerto Rico, and new adventures on Castaway Cay. There was something for everyone on this vacation! 😍🌴🚢🛳️🏝️🐚
