Friday Feature: Jumping Junction at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

If you take the Wildlife Express Train at Harambe to the Conservation Station in Animal Kingdom Theme Park, you will find a new Bluey experience, behind the scenes views of the animal care programs, some reptiles and aquatic animals, as well as Jumping Junction.

Jumping Junction is a walk-through animal exhibit featuring kangaroos and wallabies. You will be escorted in small groups through the enclosure by an Animal Care Expert. The expert will provide information and answer questions as the animals are free to roam around you. You aren’t allowed to pet the animals or must stay on the path moving with the guide as your leader.

This experience will take 10-20 minutes from entry to exit into the enclosure. If any of the animals are on the path or too close to where you will be walking, the group will pause and wait until they move so it can take longer. The kangaroos and wallabies can vary in activity level based on time of day and weather of course, but I enjoyed the experience.

Have you checked this out yet?!

Tuesday Tip: Do a Split Stay!
Do you want to try out a Deluxe Resort option but the cost for your total stay is a bit of a reach? You could consider a Split Stay during your next visit to Walt Disney World.

I do this a lot to maximize my experience with different resorts and room types during each trip and Disney World makes it so easy for you. I love staying Deluxe – the rooms are larger, bathrooms and living areas have more comfortable amenities, you get Extended Evening Hours on select nights, there are more on-site table service meals, the pools have more features, more transportation options to the parks, and so much more. But for those stays where I might not be at the resort property that much for some of the vacation, I will set up a Split Stay and transfer resorts during my vacation dates.

It is really easy to transfer between resorts. Simply take your bags to Bell Services at your first resort on that checkout day and let them know the resort you are headed to next. They will take your bags to that resort’s Bell Services and you can collect them when you arrive. Be sure to ask if they have an estimate of time for arrival at the new resort – it can be as late as 5 pm and it is nice to prepare for that and keep anything you may need with you for the day. Then, use the resort Disney transportation options to head to the parks or Disney Springs until your new resort room is ready and take the Disney transportation to your next resort from there.

You must use Bell Services (or rideshare/rental car) for luggage transfer. Luggage is not allowed on Disney Transportation per their official rules.

It can get a little tricky with the dining plan and tickets so it really helps to work with a travel advisor such as myself when arranging a split stay so you can ensure you have what you need for all of your dates.

Tuesday Tip: Make Snow White appear in the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train queue!

There are a few interactive elements in the queue for 7 Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Florida but my favorite is the spinning barrels once you get to the indoor section.

There are 7 barrels and as you spin them one of the 7 Dwarfs appears on the ceiling. If you get all 7 barrels spinning at the same time, Snow White will appear in the middle! It takes a little bit of teamwork but is always a fun surprise to see.

Give it a try on your next visit and you will get to see Snow White while sharing this Tuesday Tip with those in line!

Friday Feature: Resort Halloween Activities

The Walt Disney World resorts aim to make every holiday special for all their guests and Halloween is no exception! You can find dance parties complete with DJs, s’mores making, goody bags, crafts, face painting, photo set ups, scavenger hunts, games, and trick or treat trails!
Each resort plan could vary from year to year, but I have found fantastic Halloween celebrations at all moderate and deluxe resort options. The value resorts may offer a smaller celebration. Fort Wilderness typically offers a few days of celebration activities. This video showcases events from 2025 at the Boardwalk Inn as it was just getting started for the night.

This is a fantastic safe, fun, and free way to celebrate the holiday without needing a party ticket at Magic Kingdom. It isn’t too late to get this planned for 2026 – message me to help pick the best resort for your family!

Tuesday Tip: Watch for the Headless Horseman

The Headless Horseman leads the Boo to You Parade during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Florida. He sets the mood for this fan favorite parade, and I recommend trying to catch him walk by if you can.

The Horseman aims to start about 20 minutes ahead of the parade but please know that this can vary on any night along with your position in the parade (the further you are from the start, the longer the delay could be between the Horseman and the parade). If the weather isn’t ideal or the horse isn’t feeling up for his journey it may not take place. This can be disappointing, but it is understandable as this is quite a difficult character performance and safety for both the Horse and Horseman are important.

Have you been able to catch him walk by?
