✨ A magical Christmas 2027 adventure to Lapland ✨

This wonderfully organised family; grand children, mother, granny and a fairy godmother! Are heading to Lapland for the ultimate festive escape to meet Santa himself 🎅🏼❄️

After chatting through ideas following their upcoming trip to Disneyland Paris next month, we agreed that with the children’s ages, a magical Lapland adventure would be absolutely perfect for their next big family memory ❤️

They’ll be flying into Rovaniemi before heading deep into the snowy wilderness to stay at the beautiful Northern Lights Village Pyhä. One of the biggest priorities was finding accommodation where everyone could stay together comfortably, and the new Taiga Cabins are ideal for larger families ✨

With two bedrooms, a sofa bed lounge area, huge panoramic windows for Northern Lights viewing and even their own private sauna, they’re such a fantastic alternative to the smaller Aurora cabins often found in Lapland for families of four.

This is honestly one of my favourite Lapland resorts 🤍 Everything is so easy and magical from start to finish. All experiences are run directly from the resort, including:
🦌 Reindeer rides
🐾 Husky safaris
❄️ Snowmobile adventures
🎅🏼 Santa meeting experiences

There’s also a brilliant onsite restaurant with a fantastic buffet, cosy lounge spaces with games for the family, plus private sauna and whirlpool bath experiences available too ✨

And they’ve done exactly the right thing by booking early, these family cabins book up WELL over a year in advance, especially during school holiday dates 🎄

If Lapland 2027 is on your wishlist, now is the perfect time to start planning ✨

Flexible payment options available with a deposit now and the balance due 16 weeks before travel. Flights are typically released around a year in advance and I’ll organise all of that for you too 🤍

✨ BOOKED ✨ The E family are heading to Orlando for Easter next year! 🏰☀️🎢

I’ve worked with them to build the perfect holiday for them and their kids, and it’s their very first trip to Disney and Orlando so it’s extra exciting! 💫

To start with they’ll be staying at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside, a beautiful Disney resort where the rooms have recently undergone a renovation giving them a much more elegant and luxurious feel ✨

They’ve also got the Disney Dining Plan, so 2 meals, drinks and a snack each day are already covered, plus they’ll each get a resort refillable mug for unlimited fountain drinks at the resorts 🥤

After Disney they’ll then transfer over to Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal, which is my personal favourite Universal hotel 🌴

It’s a deluxe hotel and I just love the laid back yet luxury feel to it, plus being able to get the boat to and from the parks is such a relaxing way to end the day 🚤

But the biggest bonus is that their room key also acts as their Express Pass for the parks (excluding Epic Universe), allowing them to use the Express queues for the rides without needing to book anything in advance 🙌

Unlike at Disney where you need to constantly book rides throughout the day and spend a lot of time on your phone, at Universal you can simply turn up and ride whatever you want through the Express queue, making for a much more relaxed and stress free park day 🎢

Of course by booking through me they don’t just get my help booking their dream holiday, they’ll also now benefit from all my planning advice, a bespoke itinerary, dining recommendations and reservations, plus all my park tips to help them make the most out of their holiday ✨

If you’re thinking about booking a trip to Orlando but don’t know where to start, or simply don’t have the time to research it all yourself, get in touch 💌

Quick tip if you’re visiting Disneyland Paris from today through to September…

The bridge leading to the front of the castle (Central Plaza side) is currently being refurbished, so that entrance is closed.

You can still go inside though! Just head around to the back of the castle and enter via Fantasyland instead.

I’ve added a map and a photo of the back entrance to this post to help you find the way, as it’s not always obvious!

Everything inside the castle is open as normal, so you won’t miss out, and you can still see the castle from the sides for photos!

Thanks for the map!

B O O K E D - Lake Algarve ✨☀️

The brief? Somewhere luxurious, relatively child-free, and perfect for switching off…

Domes Lake Algarve ticks every box, a stunning, design led resort set between the beach and a peaceful lake, with beautiful pool areas, laid back luxury vibes, and plenty of space to truly unwind!

Set along one of the Algarve’s most beautiful stretches of coastline, they’ll have golden sands, dramatic cliffs, and crystal-clear waters right on their doorstep 🌊

Two old school friends heading there this May for some well deserved rest and relaxation. Think tranquil poolside days, beach strolls, and balmy evenings wandering out to explore the best local restaurants.

Perfect weather, total calm exactly the kind of escape they were looking for!

Quick EES update after our Lisbon trip ✈️🇵🇹

This was our second time using the new EES system (first in Majorca two weeks ago), and being already registered did seem to make things easier. On arrival in Lisbon we still had to go to the registration machines and scan our passports, but because we’d already enrolled we didn’t need to redo our photos or fingerprints and were through the manual check desk in a couple of minutes, it was late on a Friday night though.

Flying home late afternoon on a Monday, it was much busier. We queued for the registration machines again, scanned passports, retook photo and fingerprints, then were directed to the e-gates and got through quickly. Most other passengers were sent to manual desks though, they only had one officer manning a desk, so the queue looked at least an hour long.

Also worth noting — same as in Mallorca, children under 12 can’t use the e-gates, so if we’d had our daughter with us, we’d have been in that long queue too! Definitely something families should factor in when thinking about what time to get to the airport.

My advice: allow extra time at the airport, head straight to passport control after security, and don’t hang around grabbing one last pastel de nata! Lisbon still has the old security scanners too, so liquids rules still apply.

Hopefully queues improve as more people complete registration, but right now staffing still seems a big issue. Has anyone else used EES yet?

✈️ Our Experience of the EES System – Palma, Majorca 🇪🇸

We travelled over the weekend of 10th April, just as the new EES system came into play across Europe. With the added complication of baggage handler strikes, we were fully expecting long queues and delays…

Arrival in Palma
We were fortunately seated near the front of the plane, so were among the first off. When we reached passport control, it was actually empty — a pleasant surprise.

The new EES machines were in place and working, with some passengers using them. However, like many others, we were directed to the manual queue.

The queue moved quickly.
Adults had photos and fingerprints taken (we’d already done this at other airports), and for the children it was photos, plus fingerprints for those over 12.

Overall, it was very smooth — we were through in around 10 minutes.

Departure – a slightly different experience
Check-in and security were both quick and straightforward. Passport control, which in many European airports is close to the gate, was where things slowed down slightly.

As our daughter is under 12, we couldn’t use the e-gates and were directed to the manual queue. There were only around five families ahead of us, so we expected to be through quickly.

However:
• Only 2 of the 10 booths were staffed
• One queue was for EU passports and moved quickly
• The rest of us (including UK passports) were in a separate queue
• The system for capturing photos and fingerprints was running quite slowly

In total, it took around 30 minutes for four families to clear, and during that time a much larger queue built up behind us.

💡 My recommendation
Over the next few months, while the system beds in, I’d suggest heading straight to passport control on your return rather than stopping in the terminal. Clear it first, then use any extra time at the gate.

This was just our experience in Palma — I’ve heard a real mix of experiences across Europe over the Easter weekend.

And one final note — we still received a passport stamp!
