1. Only ONE of those American flags is actually a real American flag. 🇺🇸
Look at the flags lining Main Street. They appear authentic, but most are technically decorative pennants with subtle differences in the stars or stripes. The real American flag is the one at the flagpole near Town Square, which is handled according to flag protocol.
2. The second-story windows are basically Disney’s “credits.” 🎬
Don’t just look at the storefronts—look UP. The names in the windows aren’t random businesses. They’re tributes to Imagineers, executives and other people who helped create Disney parks. Main Street was intentionally designed to function like the opening credits of a movie.

Disney uses forced perspective, making each level progressively smaller so Main Street feels taller and grander—and helping Cinderella Castle appear farther away. 5. The storefront windows were intentionally lowered for kids. 👧👦
Disney didn’t just make Main Street pretty—they thought about what a child would see. The first-floor displays are positioned lower than they might be in a historically accurate turn-of-the-century town, allowing little guests to actually see inside without needing Mom or Dad to pick them up.
6. Main Street is designed like a movie from beginning to end. 🎥
The experience starts under the train station like you’re entering a theater. Posters act like previews, the popcorn smell sets the scene, the red pavement has been compared to a red carpet, and the windows above become the movie’s credits. Then, when you leave, the experience reverses—almost like the movie has ended.
