Wine tasting in Tuscany is always a good idea. But wine tasting followed by a long Tuscan lunch? Even better.

At verrazzano_castello, we pair the wines of Chianti with a traditional lunch—including a beautiful Florentine steak, local specialties and, of course, plenty of Tuscan wine.

This is how I think Tuscany should be experienced: good food, good wine, beautiful surroundings and plenty of time around the table.

Because in Italy, lunch isn’t something you rush through. It’s part of the experience.

Girls’ Trip 2027: Venice & the Dolomites

Grab your girlfriends—or come on your own and make some new ones!

We’re heading to Venice and the spectacular Italian Dolomites for a Girls’ Trip filled with gorgeous scenery, great food and wine, fresh mountain air and plenty of time to simply enjoy being in Italy.

We’ll begin in magical Venice before heading into the mountains, with stays in Ortisei and Cortina d’Ampezzo. Think breathtaking mountain views, scenic hikes, cable cars, cozy alpine villages, delicious meals, a little spa time—and plenty of time to relax and explore at your own pace.

This isn’t a trip about rushing from one sight to the next. It’s about experiencing Italy together, slowing down and having fun along the way.

One of the pleasures of traveling through Tuscany is stumbling upon little shops like this one.

Wine, local cheeses, salumi and other traditional foods—places filled with the flavors of the region and products made by people who have been doing it for generations.

You’ll find charming shops like this everywhere in Tuscany. Stop in. Look around. Ask questions. Buy a little something for a picnic or to take home.

Sometimes the simplest experiences are the best ones.

Imagine waking up to this.

No traffic. No rushing. Just rolling Tuscan hills, vineyards, olive groves and that beautiful morning light—all from your hotel window.

Where you stay is part of the travel experience, and in Tuscany, sometimes the view alone is reason enough to slow down and linger a little longer.

This is why I love the Italian countryside.

Deruta is the heart of ceramics in Umbria, a tradition that has been part of this small hill town for centuries.

One of my favorites is Franco Mari. His ceramics are instantly recognizable for their beautifully intricate designs, bold colors and incredible attention to detail. Each piece feels like a little work of art.

Visiting local artisans like Franco is one of the things I love most about traveling in Italy. You’re not just shopping—you’re discovering the people and traditions that make each region so special.

Slow travel isn’t about running from one famous site to the next and checking things off a list.

Sometimes it’s sitting in the Italian countryside with a truffle hunter and his dogs, listening to his stories, learning about a tradition that has been passed down for generations—and simply enjoying where you are.

These are the moments I love to build into our trips. Less rushing. More experiencing. More time to connect with the people, the place and the way of life.

That’s the Italy I want you to experience.

This view never gets old.

No matter how many times I return to Florence, seeing the Duomo rising above the city still stops me in my tracks. The colors, the detail, Brunelleschi’s magnificent dome—it’s one of those sights that reminds you why Florence is so unforgettable.

Some places you visit once. Florence keeps calling you back. 🇮🇹

One of the best parts of dining in Puglia? When the waiter brings the day’s fresh catch right to your table so you can choose your fish before it’s prepared.

Fresh from the Adriatic, simply prepared, and absolutely delicious. This is how they do seafood in Puglia—and it’s one of those experiences that makes eating in Italy so special.

Come hungry. Puglia never disappoints.

Just a few spots left on our Holiday in Italy trip this December! 🎄🇮🇹

Twinkling lights, festive piazzas, centuries-old holiday traditions, seasonal food and wine—and happy people out enjoying the magic of the season.

There’s something very special about Italy at Christmastime. It’s festive and beautiful, but it’s also about gathering, eating, drinking and enjoying time together—the things Italians do so well.

Come experience the holidays in Italy with us! ✨🍷🎄
