Meet Your Guide: Susan Raleigh

I'm called Suz, or Susy, from California but have lived for the last 30+ years in Colorado with my OG TT bike guide husband, Danf. We are franco/hispanophiles and visit southern Europe as much as we can, not being EU citizens.

My favorite place to guide is California. Solvang, CA, is my hometown, and the Santa Ynez Valley/Santa Barbara region is, indeed, a beautiful place to ride a bike!

My favorite trip memory was discovering the ridiculous ridability and beauty of Mountain Drive above Santa Barbara, CA (where had it been all my life?!), and getting to ride up Alpe d'Huez, just before the Tour de France came through, on an e-bike (not in turbo! Really!)

Hi, I'm Stefano, an Italian guide leading trips with Trek Travel for over 11 years. I love sharing the beauty, culture, and hidden corners of Italy with guests, creating experiences that go beyond just cycling.

🍝 I’m always on the hunt for the best local food spots—especially anything involving fresh pasta, mountain cheese, or gelato!

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 I love connecting people—by the end of a trip, I feel like I’ve gained new friends from all over the world. Now I just need to find the time to visit them all.

My favorite place to guide is the Dolomites. There’s something truly magical about these mountains—the dramatic peaks, the changing light, and the peaceful alpine landscapes. Every time I’m there, it feels like home, and I love sharing that feeling with my guests.

My favorite trip memory was a midnight swim during our first trip after the COVID lockdown. The group was so happy to be traveling again that we all jumped into the water together under the stars—it was spontaneous, joyful, and a moment I’ll never forget.

Meet Your Guide: Adam Widmer
⭐️ Self-Guided Host Edition ⭐️

How did I get here?

In 2021, I graduated as a Veterinarian in Brazil, specializing in small animal clinic and surgery, and dedicated 60 hours a week to this wonderful profession for three years. However, during a pandemic year, overwhelmed by mental stress and deep reflection, I decided to pack and explore the world. Without making too many plans, I ventured into volunteer work around the world.

I worked as a photographer and part-time in hostels, cleaning, on farms, and at ski resorts. It wasn’t until 2022 that my passion for cycling began. With a borrowed bike, I made my first trip through Germany and Austria. Between adventures and working through everything from sun to snow, in 2024 I decided to explore Africa for three months —one of the most intense experiences of my life. Discovering the world on a bicycle is something special; it allowed me to truly feel the reality of every country I passed through.

It was after this adventure that I found the opportunity to work with Trek Travel, turning my newest passion into a career. Now, I have the chance to share and host that same feeling with others, living the experience of Girona and its culture in the best way possible: through cycling.
