Hi! My name is Bev. I was born and raised in Alaska, where my love for the untamed outdoors began. I’m most at home surrounded by towering mountains, alpine lakes, & rushing rivers. Travel is one of my greatest passions, and I love getting to know people along the way. Whether road biking through scenic landscapes or sharing stories by the fire, I’m all about meaningful connections and unforgettable experiences.

☕️ In my off time, I moonlight as a barista — making the perfect cup of coffee is just as important as any adventure.

☕️ My bucket list is longer than anything I could ever finish, but I’ll keep chasing endless adventures as long as I can.

☕️ I’ve been known to lead friends on ‘easy’ hikes that somehow end with us summiting a mountain — turns out, I’m a little too good at under-promising and over-delivering.

☕️ The San Juan Islands are my favorite trip to guide — with breathtaking ocean views, a laid-back island vibe, and wildlife around every corner, it’s the perfect escape.

☕️ One of my favorite memories as a guide was orchestrating a surprise proposal for a guest — I set the scene, snapped the photos, and witnessed one of the most magical moments of their lives. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Meet Your Guide: Jonathan "Hershy" Hershberger

Originally from Ohio, I spend my winters in Colorado teaching skiing and snowboarding and summers on the road between Croatia and California and everywhere in between. My passion is helping people to do more than they believe possible, both on the snow and the bike. Learning about areas from the seat of the bike and sharing it with others is my passion. Cooking, good wine, chocolate, fitness, books, and spending quality time with my family and good friends energize me.

🏁 I got into cycling when I watched Greg LeMond win his first Tour de France in 1986. I was at a friend's house, and we were watching it on TV. I can still remember it vividly.

🏁 In 2004 I had been leading cycling tours for 4 years and was watching the Tour with a friend of mine. I looked at her and said, someday I want to see the tour in Paris live. The next year, I was at the tour from start to finish and was in Paris for the finish.

🏁 My favorite 1-hour ride is cycling up the Col du Lautaret from La Grave in the afternoon… The sun shimmers off the face of the Massif des Cerces Range as you crest to the top of the Lautaret. If you have more time, you can do the 9km climb to the top of Glibber, or you can just descend back to La Grave. Either way, it is awesome.

🏁 My favorite place to guide for a luxury trip would be Croatia and the Dalmatian Coast. For true mountain riding, I love guiding our classic climbs of the tour trip (Pyrenees, Provence, and the Alps).

🏁 There have been so many incredible memories over the years. Wine-paired dinners at Michelle Schlumberger in Healdsburg. Cycling in Ireland and taking Mini Coopers to our social hour in Galway after dinner for live music and pints. Climbing the Col du Galiber with Kevin Livingston before the tour and seeing/smelling Didi on the road with his pitchfork speaking flemish. Descending the Col du Lauterat with Chechu during the tour. Cycling up Gavia in the snow, the road is closed to cars, guests are cold, wet, and inside the refuge near the fire, and out of nowhere, your co-guide Gabe DelRossi shows up with everyone’s bags.

I'm from Yorkshire, England where I grew up and got into cycling. I have been fortunate enough to travel a lot and combined with a growing love of cycling this has allowed me to visit so many amazing places, meet new people, and push my boundaries. I absolutely believe traveling by bike is the best way to experience the world!

📚️ I lived in Poland for one year before joining Trek Travel, doing voluntary service with teenagers.

📚️ I have a bachelor’s degree in design and I’m currently doing my master’s degree in Sociology.

📚️ My favorite place to guide is Portugal. It’s home and I love showing my home to everyone! The food, the people and the landscapes don’t disappoint!

📚️ My favorite trip memory was when I turned 27 while on trip, in 2021. The group enjoyed the celebration, and we all wore birthday hats. It was so much fun riding with them and my bike, all decorated by Nick. It was a very special birthday ❤
