Fun fact: I am a print engineer and worked on the large Gravure print presses during college. I even had a research paper published about color on this press. These engraved cylinders are the types responsible for the beautiful glossy magazines of old, now replaced with new technology printing. My biggest surprise was going for a walk and coming across these! They are found in the Werthan Mills area of Germantown that is being refurbished into lofts, retail, restaurants and lovely green spaces.
