Join Disability Unite and NYC Commission on Human Rights for a FREE celebration of community on Sunday July 12th! We're taking it to the next level with this year’s hybrid event, combining in-person festivities at Central Park Naumburg Bandshell in NYC and an exclusive online experience.

As we commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the United States and the 36th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, our 2026 Disability Unite Festival theme, “A More Accessible Union,” reflects on the ideals of freedom and equality and the foundation of access and inclusion that can unite us all. It honors the ongoing work of the disability community to build a more connected, welcoming, and equitable future, and celebrates disability pride through art and culture as a powerful expression of belonging, creativity, and community. It calls for recognition that disability rights are human rights, and that the promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness belongs to us all.

Captioning, Sign Language Interpretation and Audio Description Will Be Provided.

Disability Unite Festival’s motto is “For The Community, By The Community” and the creation of the festival comes from all of us. Based on Mutual Aid principles, together we participate, collaborate, are inclusive, creative, and connective. We are the sum total of our collective advocacy, information, imagination and activities.

Stay tuned for more exciting festival updates and announcements! Go to www.DisabilityUnite.org to sign up for our mailing list and follow us on social media to stay in the know on all the latest news.

I take zillions of pictures of my guests and then later send the photos to them.
But I often forget to take photos of the places I show them.
You would think I would know to do it after all this time.
But, no.
Only three photos.

What an absolutely mesmerizing evening at at tonight.
The dancers. The costumes. The music. All of it, rapturous.
I wish I hadn't waited so long to see them. Especially now that I know the show changes every year.
I could have watched them for hours and hours.
Worth every penny.
Go see it and let me know what you think.

The 11th annual GANYC Apple Awards was last night at Merkin Hall Kaufman Music Center at Lincoln Center.
Everyone was in their finest attire and celebrating so many of the people who make NYC great and a fantastic place to visit.
A wonderful evening of fun, laughs, and cheers.

Walking down memory lane, I stumbled across a new-ish craft sandwich shop. Holy cow, the sandwiches are uh-maze-ing!
The cappucinos are delish, too. Sorry, forgot to take a photo of it beforehand.
Next time you're on Dyckman, you really have to stop by for a sandwich.
You won't regret it.
