As of October 1, 2026, Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines will implement a new policy prohibiting the transportation of certain breeds as cargo or checked excess baggage. We acknowledge the inherent risks associated with flying brachycephalic breeds, which we take very seriously. However, with proper precautions such as acclimation, temperature control, kennel sizing, health screening, and experienced handling, these breeds can be safely transported.
