May 16 is Adventure Safe Day in Utah! 🥾 How can you adventure safe in Richfield? Here’s some ideas👇
1. Bring enough water 💦 In Richfield’s dry climate, staying hydrated is important. High temperatures, sun exposure, elevation, and long days in remote areas can quickly lead to dehydration.
2. Dress for the day and the activity ☀️ Sun protection, extra layers, the right footwear, and safety gear all matter, especially when participating in activities like mountain biking, off-roading, and hiking.
3. Check conditions before heading out ⛈️ Weather, trail conditions, and water conditions can all change quickly, so it’s important to check before starting the day and be ready for the unexpected.
4. Know your limits 😰 Problems arise when people push too far, underestimate the conditions, or try something they aren’t ready for. Taking breaks and turning around when needed is part of adventuring safely.
5. Stay on the trail or in designated areas 🥾 Stay on marked trails, respect trail closures, be aware of wildlife, and protect sensitive terrain.
6. Tell someone your plan 🤳🏽 Richfield’s remote trail systems sometimes have poor cell service. Always tell someone where you’re going and preferably, never adventure alone.
Lace up your boots, get outside, and recreate safely! 🙌
