The Crystal Serenity sailed into Antigua today and I was surprised with how much there was to discover beyond the beaches! Yes, the island is known for having hundreds of coves and stretches of sand, but its history is just as compelling.

Accompanied by an experienced private guide, I spent a few hours exploring a different side of Antigua - and all the breathtaking views along the way! English Harbour and Nelson’s Dockyard offered a clear glimpse into the island’s 18th-century naval past, while St. Barnabas Anglican Church, built from Antigua’s distinctive green stone with simple brick accents, felt like a small but meaningful reminder of the island’s early history.

Antigua is a popular Caribbean cruise port, but for travelers considering an all-inclusive Antiguan vacation, is a standout. With two very different beaches, all ocean-view accommodations, and a warm, long-standing family legacy, it’s the kind of place guests return to year after year.
