I've spent most of my life as a Texan. I'm passionate about sharing its stories, culture, art, & secrets with everyone.

I started There She Goes SATX Tours after falling in love with San Antonio all over again as a certified professional tour guide.

Happy Halloween, y’all! Wishing everyone more treats than treats! 👻

Pan de Mu**to for Dia de los Mu**tos are a sight to behold! Gorgeous colors and yummy flavors at I love the orange-y flavor and the symbolism (round loaves for circle of life, skull and bones of the departed). October is a great time of the year to explore our city’s Dia de los Mu**tos traditions.

Fall days at the San Antonio Botanical Garden are always awesome but even more so when the Jardin de Catrinas is on display! Absolutely loved how beautiful and creative the different Catrinas are throughout the Garden. Don’t miss this!

Tour guide perk—going on other fabulous tours, especially when you’re a guide with Secret Food Tours! Loved the downtown Austin tour led by Lily and tasting all the different flavors. As a former Austinite, it was great to be back in my old city as a tourist!

I’m at Mi Tierra Cafe & Bakery at least once a week with my downtown tours & I can’t love this enough! I will definitely be ordering all pink treats for my tour guests this month.

💗Pink Treats for the Cure!💗

This October, treat yourself to something sweet and make a difference!✨

La Familia Cortez Restaurants will donate 100% of net proceeds from our full case of pink goodies to WINGS, a local nonprofit supporting breast cancer patients and survivors!💪🏽

Let’s rise together for a cause that matters. Available all month long, so grab yours and spread the love!😊💕

During a downtown tour the other week I discovered a new art project in progress across the street from Historic Market Square! It’s the beginning of a huge mural and I can’t wait to see how it’s coming along this week, so stay tuned. I don’t know who the artist is or what the theme is yet, but I’m looking forward to finding out more.

Teacher perk! When I’m not guiding tours around our city, I’m in the classroom doing my “other” job—teaching! Over the weekend I had the privilege of attending ‘Teach the Alamo: STEAM’ professional development day at the The Alamo. A bonus was a guided tour of the Alamo, including the newest outdoor permanent display, the Charli-Losoya House with the 18-pound Cannon mounted on top, as it was during the 1836 battle. Love learning new ways to teach STEAM concepts alongside Texas history. Thank you to the entire Education team at the Alamo!

Finally visited the new St. James AMEC Culture Crossing along the San Pedro Creek Culture Park, and it’s a beautiful place to sit and reflect. It’s both a gorgeous art installation and historical memorial to the 1st African American church in San Antonio. I’ll definitely be back when the weather cools down & take in the detail of the African American quilt patterns. Have you checked out this unique place downtown yet?

When I found out about Casa Navarro’s hands-on Adobe Brick workshop, I knew I had to check it out! This is what I learned: 1) It’s much more labor intensive than expected; 2) It can take weeks for the bricks to dry in the sun; 3) Using your hands to combine the dirt, clay, hay, and water and then fill the mold is more efficient and satisfying. My contribution was adding the hay and pouring water. I can’t wait to see how our bricks turned out! Thank you Texas Historical Commission for showing us how it’s done.

I have so missed the Paseo walkway that connects the Riverwalk to the Alamo while it has been closed for refurbishment, and was thrilled to tour the upper and lower levels of the new Paseo today! I led a tour with a guest on a mobility scooter, and the new ramp and elevator were exactly what we needed. Love the calming sounds of the waterfall and the educational display about the Edwards Aquifer and fun facts about the San Antonio River. Have you visited the newly opened Paseo yet?!
