Sanford businesses just raised over $50,000 for rescued sloths, and the story behind it is incredible!

After the Sloth World project fell apart, owner Amber Babcock was left with sloth craft kits that had already been prepared. Instead of letting them go to waste, she donated them to support the rescued sloths now being cared for by the . Around the same time, Paul Williams of & the launched a t-shirt fundraiser with 100% of proceeds going to sloth conservation. When orders started pouring in from across the country, Whisker Works stepped in to handle the nationwide shipping and fulfillment, and the Sanford community showed up in a big way.

Volunteers gathered at the Historic Sanford Welcome Center to pack and ship orders. Supporters from over 40 states bought shirts. Local businesses worked behind the scenes to make it all happen. More than $50,000 raised and counting!

This is what happens when a community comes together around a shared cause, and it’s exactly what makes Seminole County so special. 💚

For this week’s spotlight, we are thrilled to celebrate two incredible neighbors who bring so much heart (and harmony!) to downtown Sanford.

Fred and Connie are always showing up, stepping in, and helping out wherever there’s a need. Connie is truly the sweetest person you’ll ever meet, bringing warmth to every room she walks into. And Fred? He keeps the good vibes rolling as a wildly talented crooner and guitar player, bringing local music and joy to our community! 🎶🎸

On top of everything they do, Fred and Connie are also proud members of the 77 Army, constantly giving back to make our town the best it can be.

Sanford’s Youth Cycling Rodeo & Family Festival is a completely FREE community event designed for the whole family!

Bring the kids out for a fun-filled morning of bike safety, games, and local community fun right in the heart of town.
